I f you want a show that will really make you say "WTF am I watching!" then serial experiments Lain is right up there.
But try out Kara no Kyoukai. You probably know of it already though. Seeing as it is related to Tsukihime. But if you have not checked out the movies yet I recommend you do. Some truly great animation and awesome fights and a simply beautiful soundtrack. Saikano is pretty good. But depressing as hell. Still it's awesome to see the robotic transformation of the ultimate weapon but unfortunately this is primarily a love story.

I see. I like to believe that I am a man of higher intelligence. Not a genius but I am not an idiot either. I understood Paranioa agent with one watch. And I can get the basic gist of some of the most mindfucky animes like Serial experiments Lain. And I understood the concept of Higurashi's time loop thing(I know it's not really a time loop but lets not get into specifics here) without anyone telling me. So I would like to read a story that enlightens me. Very well, Cross channel is next on the list for visual novels.....though I still have not finished Tsukihime....and I can't find links for Kana/little sister anywhere.
So what anime you watching these days? Did you check out Umineko no Naku Koro ni yet? I am thristy for some damn good anime. I am getting sick of watching animes that only end up as good or mediocre. I want something great!
Though if you want to check out an ongoing anime try Seitokai no Ichizon. I have watched five episodes so far and I got to say that it's not bad. Tons of anime references.

How can anyone hate the manga?! The manga is great! It's the anime that is a pile of crap. They took everything that made the story interesting and threw it out for pointless fan service. God I hated that.

You hated the loli?! I thought she was adorable. Still one of the main reasons I really liked the anime was because of the main character. He was downright hilarious. He sort of reminded me of Kyon.

I wouldn't call Afro samurai a champloo ripoff. I admit that the premise of mixing rap and samurai is similar however Afro has enough to at least set it apart. Plus the animation is amazing. Only 5 episodes so it wouldn't take you long to finish.

It was.....different. To be honest the first episode gave me the impression that there was going to be some good action in this show but it turned out to be more Like Xxxholic. The stories in it were interesting I just hated the way they were told. The story was not that complex but the annoying thing is that they told it in a mindfucky way in order to make it seem deeper than it actually was. It jumped around like a skittish rabbit. I was disappointed that the girl basically abandoned the stable and school based weaponry after the first episode. And during the action scenes it constantly flashed up those annoying screens that just showed Red or Black. The storytelling style was interesting the first few episodes but after that the novelty wore off. But ending theme sounded cool.
Don't resort to drugs man....save those for the summer holidays....
Aidan-sama didn't drop Bakemonogatari, he gave it a low rating, because he expected action in it, anyone would, if you re-watch the first episode, you would know why. i didn't expect much action in this series, i love it for the humor.
I think he prefer both, but you could be right, he might appreciate the dubs more.
Saya no Uta? This is my impressions of the it that I sent to Aidan-sama.
Saya no Uta? hmm... to tell you the truth, it has made me very VERY hungry! so i went down to the store and bought myself some can-meat, eggs and ketchup! came back got the pot all ready and just dropped all of it in and let it burn for a while, so the meat won't stay raw. and finally, it's ready. but i let it sit out for awhile because i don't want it to burn my mouth, while doing that, i made a side dish, which was fish eyes! so i got all of them in my table and ate em, and it was quite delicious!
Now, lets get started shall we.
Oh boy, this just takes the frigging cake! and let me tell you, it was the most fu*ked up thing i've ever played, and this was a stinking VN game! oh man, i question the japanese some time, are they really humans with no soul? anyways, great and horrifying story. i was kinda in the same situation as the main character when i was little, believe it or not. i used to imagine that i was the only cockroach who could see humans in the world! LOL but his story is just too horrifying! seeing rotten meat everywhere isn't really healthy, is it? and the Loli porn was quite awkward, but it didn't bother me seeing Fuminori and Saya 'get it on' it bothered me when that old man started to rape Saya! i was flinching all over while he was doing that, the second he got his manhood out, i got really pissed and thought "i should enter that crazy world and kill him" which happened seconds later, when Fuminori came in, but she was already raped... i know, i know, i'm over exaggerating, but i can't take it when girls get raped! anyways, after that horrible situation, i picked "to forget everything" and stay by her side, which makes me into a some sort of a villain, which i liked. and that loser Koji had to pick who he was going to call, i picked Fuminori! can't believe i just made someone into an idiot! and according to wikipedia, i got the "true ending" which was bad in my opinion, because Saya dying and making the entire human population into Saya-like creatures isn't the ending i was looking for, but at least she made Fuminori happy.
Aidan-sama told me to check out the "bad ending' but i'm not enthusiastic about it anymore.
And any anime recommendations? hmm, i think Aidan already told you about one of my favorites, that being Welcome to the NHK! great series. i re-watched it a couple of times, might as well hunt down the light novels and manga.
But he didn't mention Gungrave, which might top some of the animes he mentioned above, if you haven't watched it yet, then i highly recommend it.
Gungrave is truly one of the best series out there, and it don't get the respect it deserves! its really a shame because it got one of the greatest stories i have ever seen. Gungrave starts out with two best friends, surviving through the hardship of life, they get involved with the mafia, women, murder and somewhat unnatural stuff and the story goes on. the story might be depressing, but it shows the hardship some of the people go through in life.
And another is Darker than BLACK.
The main lead this series, is like the coolest protagonist EVAR! no silly or cowardly main character this time, but the story might be a little confusing for you... but it's simple really. think of Darker than BLACK as a combination of Cowboy Bebop and X-MEN. the characters are really likable. but some of their renumeration seems painful! okay, lets break it down for you. just like in X-MEN, DTB have people with supernatural powers, but here's the catch, every time they use their powers, they gotta give something back in return. like one of episodes have this guy breaking his fingers after using his powers! quite painful don't you think. than you got another girl who could jump from places to places and her price is to kiss people...yeah, it's somewhat ridiculous, but check it out, it have a great story line like no other...

Have you ever seen the anime Baccano? It takes a while to get into it but after a few episodes you will be hooked.
Also try Kanon (2006)(You may have played the game already but the animes good, It will make you cry manly tears of manlyness!), xxxHOLiC, Afro Samurai(For something short, simple and sweet), Welcome to the NHK!(The greatest anime comedy out there. If you have not seen it then you must check it out now),
And the show Mai-hime(Starts off very sterotpical anime style but halfway becomes quite dark and serious)
