Yeah it is unique.
Yeah 44 years, but only two movies and one 50 episode series. It's kind of weird, apparently it's kind of popular in japan, like everybody has at least heard of it. It's ok, I don't have money either, that's why they invented the internet.

One Outs artsytle? It's great, I like how Tokuchi has a different character design than most people, really sharp lines and his eyes are sharp too. And when it shows the dark background with the dark colored light as they realize they were just completely tricked and fell right into his plans. I also think it was the ending song that had me start listening to the band.
It's a great series, surprisingly it's pretty old, still being published, for over 44 years, ridiculous amount of time. You should definately get it. His smarts is on par with Tokuchi's, but then again Tokuchi's never deals with killing people. I don't know how good Golgo is at that, he is even referenced in a lot of comedy anime, whenever they get thick eyebrows and say "don't stand behind me".

I love it, it's one of the only anime where the main character is always the smartest and always ahead of everyone else. I also like the setting, it's about baseball, but it's much deeper and more psychological. Tokuchi is also a great character, there is nothing bad about him and whenever he says something meaningful it's always the truth. Like when he talked about the politicians and other people high up who are able to just apologize for their mistakes, and when he talks about taking responsibility is taking more pain than the other person.
If you like anime where the main character is always ahead, you have to try Golgo 13, I might actually like watching Golgo 13 a little more than One Outs. Because it's episodic, so there are like 50 chances to see his skill and smarts. But in terms of overall enjoyment they are almost exactly the same.
