EEK I'm so jealous! Of you going to AX, that is XD lol I like the icon. I haven't really done anything big this summer; a lot of stuff has been going on, and we're a little poor to be doing extravagant vacations XD What about you? How's your summer?
Thanks for considering my recommendations :D I'd be happy to give you some manga recommendations, but maybe I'll let you simmer with the anime ones XD until you've had enough, that is XD
I haven't watched Ghost in the Shell completely [actually, just 1 episode >.<] but I hope you'll like it ^^
I haven't read the manga for Kaichou wa Maid-sama either, so I don't know if it's worthy to the original series. Either way, I enjoyed it...and Usui. *squee*
Code Geass will be worth it XD
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro kind of does have a similar feeling to Black Butler, I guess. I mean, there isn't any hint of shonen-ai, and Neuro doesn't spoil Yako [the girl] at all...in fact, he's rather sadistic XD I hope you like it!
YES! I haven't played Okami, but I know about it and I've seen the game play. It's absolutely gorgeous! Yeah, I really enjoyed the artwork in Mononoke, and if you liked Okami, I'm sure you'll like this series XD
I understand about the vampire thing. It has to have a really good story/plot for me to get into the vampire genre again, thanks to Twilight. But really, it's not your typical vampire story.
Keep in mind that these are some that I personally like, so if you don't like them as much...hey, I tried ^^ I tried finding some that were funny, but I surprisingly don't have a lot of comedy-based ones...so...I'll just give you some of my favorites. Hope you don't mind. I'm actually better with recommending some manga, but...here's a sample of anime selections :D
[1] - Ghost Hunt - This deals with ghosts and supernatural phenomena, which is one of my favorite genres. There are some funny moments, but it's mostly mysterious and definitely interesting!
[2] - Kaichou wa Maid-sama! - You might've heard of this one, but it's definitely worth the watch. It's a shojo-esque anime, but it has plenty of funny moments, nearly in every episode! It's very similar to Special A [or SA], so if you like this one, you may like the other. It's also got a bit of romance.
[3] - Code Geass - The plot is definitely intense and the artwork/animation is good to look at. I would try this series out, because you can get so caught up with the characters. Involves mecha and supernatural powers, but it's really good.
[4] - Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro - Ahh, one of my favorite series of all times. This is a mystery series, where a girl is made to play the role of a detective while her 'assistant' is actually the one solving the mysteries! And he's a demon. Most mysteries are episodic, but there are a couple of good arcs. And I definitely recommend the manga; the artwork may not be pleasant to the eye, but the story is amazing!
[5] - Mononoke - Oh my goodness, this is such a beautifully crafted series! This is a spin-off of the "Ayakashi - Japanse Classic Horror" series. The artwork has a rice-paper texture look to it, and the storyline is definitely appealing. It's about a Medicine Seller [Kusuriuri] who kills Mononoke [spirits], but he needs three things before he is able to unsheathe the sword he carries that can kill them.
I highly recommend this one!
[6] - Shiki - This is not your typical vampire story; it's not Vampire Knight, and it's definitely not Twilight. There's a remote village located in the mountains and a new family moves to town, and ever since, an epidemic has been spreading, nearly consuming the whole town. But the epidemic is...vampires?! It's really awesome :D And I can't forget that there are werewolves too [but they're not really important...kind of].
Of course I can recommend some! But I need to know what kind of genres you like...because there are so many good ones XD And yeah, I've seen the cosplay ducks. I wish I had them :D And that would be Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji, of course XÞ
