I peeked at your list and saw that you tagged Kannagi as the spiritual successor to Kamichu.. Why do you say that? In any case, I think I will have to check out Kannagi now since I recently watched Kamichu and loved it..!!
You read those light novels in Japanese? D: I wish they published Saiunkoku Monogatari and some other stuff in English.
The last few eps of 00 disappointed me too, I hope the movie will be good.
My summer vacation started two days ago, so I've been reading and watching stuff and going out. I plan to finish Gundam X soon coz it's been pretty awesome so far. Then gotta finish many other series I started like months ago. XD
And I don't even know what animu are coming out this summer. D: I'm so behind on everything. Would have to look it up.
I like it a lot. I really liked the game/setting, so it's nice to have a manga that focuses on some male characters instead of Alicia/Selveria/or even Edy etc (why did the pick all the meh supporting male characters for the anime?! I wanted Mica in Squad 7 ;_;). Even if the characters fall until rather defined stereotypes, I still find it enjoyable. Decent art too, although Julius's mullet makes me giggle a bit. I'm a sucker for guys+uniforms stories, but the Valkyria Chronicles setting makes it even better. :3
I read like a chapter of the other manga for it and I was not impressed.. not sure if I'll buy it or not.
Oooh, sankyu, sankyu, Rah~san! I'll definitely watch it then. Xellos act-a-like = do want. xP Plus all the recent slice of life series have left me in despair and great need of some adventure stuff.
3 more days till Umineko anime, boo hoo hoo. And a bit more till Zan Zetsubou Sensei. Can't wait~
Haha, I actually stalk your profile from time to time and I'm always amazed at the amount of anime on your currently watching list. XD Ok, actually, all your lists look impressive. XD
Visual novels too? :D If you like the Hanakisou manga, try out the visual novel. The art is just.. fantastic! Some of the best I've seen. Good story and great voice acting in the PS2 version (Chiba Susumu <3) Either way, let me know what you think of the manga. I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it. :) Haha, yeah, some of the game adaptations do seem like ads. They picked only one story path and went for it. But they started at the beginning of the story, instead of the middle like the game.. it actually was MUCH better in the game that way. :D :D
B's Log is great for BL and otome stuff in general. I've only been following them for 1-2 years.
For Zanbara, they have rather small bodies and very round, baby faces. I don't do a lot of shouta, but yeah.. probably. With all that action, I usually like bigger, leaner bodies, but I guess you'd also see young people doing that stuff in Jump. ;)
I want to get subscriptions someday.. maybe after I'm done buying lots of out-of-print stuff. :)
Great. :D I want to buy so many Avarus series and I'd hate to miss a good one! ;_;
Nice, those novels do look rather interesting! I'm feeling a bit gypped now lol.
Zanbara is pretty heavy on the action, perhaps too much. I usually like my characters a bit older looking too. Honestly the cover is the best part of it so far. I'd have a hard time recing it over other stuff so far.
Oh, you got a subscription to both Avarus and GFantasy? :D That's great! I forgot you get stuff in Japanese. ^_^;; I focused on stuff that I knew was in English to some capacity. Try Hanakisou then too. :D The manga isn't as great as the game itself, but it's still a good read (2 vols).
Yes, Heart no Kuni no Alice. <3 There's a spin-off focusing on one of the characters coming out this summer. I want it SO BADLY. ^_^;;
B’s Log has a lot of good stuff. Boushiya Ellipsis, Daylight, and Kai Yorihito Kaiyori Shiki are some I'm following. I want more though, including Fujoshi Kanojo.
Wings has a lot too. You've probably read some in there. I was thinking along the lines of 101 Hitome no Alice, Atsumare! Gakuen Tengoku, and any Yoshinaga Fumi works you haven't read.. there's more too.
Haha, no problem. I really love these type of works and have been getting into them in the last year or so. :) I don't find a lot of other users who understand the general appeal of them outside of one or two works. :3 Tell me if you find anything cool in those Avarus and GFantasy magazines. :D Especially Avarus. They seem to be publishing good stuff lately!
Oh, I focused on Zero-Sum stuff before, but I think you'd like lots of Yumeka Sumomo's stuff (mix of shoujo, josei, also some BL and even seinen in there).
Hey :) I think the Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru manga is solid, but not the best. It does have great art and when I was reading it, I was getting the feeling the manga existed solely so two hot guys could run around fighting things. Not that I really have anything wrong with that. :3 It's probably because it's a one volume manga. I bet the novels are more developed. But I understand why there would be lots of fanart—they are great to look at!
I see you just read Akagami no Shirayukihime. That's a good shoujo manga. :D
So along the lines of Zero-Sum stuff, definitely try Toukaidou Hisame – Kagerou (and its prequel Toukaidou Hisame) (that's more BL admittedly) and Olimpos. Also try Karneval and Shounen AR.
Some Comic Blade/Comic Blade Avarus works kinda feel similar to me, so check out Heart no Kuni no Alice (love this one), Hoshi no Oujo, Nishi no Yoki Majo, and Houou Gakuen Misoragumi.
Also Atsumare! Gakuen Tengoku (random one ha, definitely more shoujo, but not that romancey school shoujo brand). Hopefully there's something in there that sounds appealing. ;)
In general, when I think Zero-Sum type works, I think Ward, B's Log Comics, Comic Blade Avarus, Wings, and GFantasy.. MU is a good source for poking around different publishers and seeing what is scanned. :)
