About radicalshorty
Hey everyone! I'm now super-free and catching up with all the anime I should have been watching whilst I was working... pesky assignments!

Otaku are rare in my neighbourhood, so it's nice to meet y'all.

A brief history: Aged 15 I watched three episodes of Sailor Moon R (the awful American dub), which was my first anime encounter. Two years later I saw Akira and it blew my mind. Went on with some of the big-name anime - Ghost in the Shell, Metropolis, the Animatrix, etc - until I dated an otaku. Because of him I discovered Ghibli, which blew my mind all over again. Now I'm an addict. There are very few anime I've seen that I've truly disliked.

Favourite series: Brigadoon.
Favourite OVA: FLCL.
Favourite movie: Grave of the Fireflies.
Favourite seiyuu: Kotono Mitsuishi.
Favourite anime composer: Joe Hisaishi.

Hey Shorty, how are you doing now? Do you have internet yet? Hope its not your only source for anime too. Ah well i guess getting used and personalizing your apartment takes up allot of time too. And there are probably allot of things to do in the summer anyway. ^^

Lofoc | 06-29-08, 8:35 AM
Yeah i know what you mean. There are some series that i just cant watch too much too. ^^; But yeah i might read the book then when my pile of books i still want to read gets a bit lower.

Oh and thanks for saying hi, i guess its pretty hard to comfortably sit behind a computer when you don't have a internet connection at your home. And yeah jobs always ask much time, maybe even more then studying. Don't let them push you around to much though, taking some free time every now and then is also pretty important.^^

Hey Radical shorty, found your routine yet? I guess its sometimes good too when nothing "special" happens or when life is boring lol.

Anyway I've seen Howl now in Japanese.(I didn't have an option for a dubbed version) And i liked it pretty much, the castle and everything in and on it was pretty cool, and i particularly like that straw puppet jumping around.

I guess its probably made for a big audience though since they didn't make the story deep on to many levels, but i guess you could call that a good thing too.^^

Lofoc | 06-11-08, 10:33 AM
cool I'll look forward to that then.^^ Its always good to have a real British fantasy story. Oh and try to relax a bit when your finally get some free time too, most people tend to want to rush trough without thinking of their own health and stuff.^^

Lofoc | 06-10-08, 2:47 PM
Oh Howl's better in English? I'll watch the dubbed version then. And yeah i don't know if I'll read the book soon then because my "plan to read" list is even longer then my "plan to watch"list. Most books i read are just books and not manga though...^^;

But yeah moving houses always takes up allot of time. To me its always surprising how much stuff i have.XD Oh and I'm doing pretty good, some more free time is always nice though... to bad there's always so much that you have to do as a person. :D

Hey shorty, how are you doing now? Guess your still way too busy since you didn't update that much anime? But yeah guess that counts for me too, since I'm just watching too much football at the moment too.^^;

But yeah I'm going to watch Howls moving castle soon now whenever i have the time. Oh and good too see you have more MAL friends now too.^^

Ah yeah, the manga exhibition. Have you been to it yet? A friend noticed it, so will hopefully get to visit it soon. I've just started a trial 3 month period of shift working, so dunno what that's gonna do to my chances to see it. It seems to give me more time to watch anime though, I'm practically flying through Code Geass this week before I head to work.

Heart_of_Storm | 05-31-08, 9:53 AM
Didnt know there was a manga exhibition! im gonna have to go check that out :-D

Yeah Scrapped Princess if full of all kinds of win, I did the review only because the other ones there didnt seem to be much cop, in two minds about whether ill do any more.

Just had a nose through your blogsite and anime list, can I heartily recommend you check out NANA? tis an awesome anime, both in terms of plot/character but also for its music...

Before I continue, I apologise for my slightly drunken ramblings, just been to a mates birthday meal, so "slightly merry"....

Monster's pretty good. Only seen 4 episodes so far, due to lots of overtime, and social stuff happening this week, but what I've seen it's looking promising. There's no weirdness so far, no ecchi or randomness. Pretty ominous plot and atmosphere, and it seems like it may turn out to be a straight up thriller. But that may change as I watch more...

As for Evangelion, I've stayed clear so far, as there's conflicting opinions as to it's completeness, and if it's ever coming to a conclusion that people will understand. I suppose I'll get to it eventually, but with all the recuts and rewrites and half finished movies, I'm not sure....

Well I'm sorry if I've rambled, I've not wanted to cut my night short, but I've got work in the morning :( so I guess I'd better take myself to bed. Take care!

thanks for the add

Hello, how you doing? Thanks for the friend request :) Salford uni was a long time ago for me, just a bunch of drunken stumbling home from the Pav memories now!

I see you liked Furi Kuri, seen it myself recently, and really enjoyed it. It's a little messed up up and crazy, and it does a a good job of distracting you from the plot with all it's seeming randomness, but it's quite clever really. It left me wanting more though :(

Lofoc | 05-27-08, 4:20 PM
Ah well I always have about the same thing too after i finish a few things. (Or maybe when i think i finished them) Its still quite weird too see how hard it still is then to have some free time then, and how much sleep i have to catch up then.XD

I finished Haruri Suzumiya just now because I still wanted to finish it today too. Somehow its amazing and constantly interesting to watch...but somehow i get the feeling I'm missing something on it, but i guess that could also be just me. lol

I did actually see some of Howl's castle coming by a while back, but i guess I need to watch the whole movie anytime soon then if its that good too. But i don't know if it has some of the, for lack of a better word, romance as Laputa has. And beside that you have the resemblance of Laputa with the setting of games like Ico and Zelda. And then you have the whole aircraft pioneer thing.

Oh and i don't know if your still your still at One Piece episode 17 and you need a laugh then you really should check episode 18. Its just a single half filler episode, but its still a pretty funny story.^^

Hey Shorty,
I'm really taking over your comment section, i guess your still not really fully settled in here? Ah well i guess your bound to get more MAL-friends over time. I mean you are nice enough to have, well at least allot more then me.^^;

Anyway i finally watched Castle in the sky and to me it is one of the most beautiful anime I've seen. I mean if you look at the flying machines then its already pretty innovative and detailed, but when you reach the "castle" then it just makes your jaw drop. And maybe it helps allot too that the plot and whole idea just fascinates me. ^^

Anyway I'm still watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya too. I still don't know how to qualify it. I mean its interesting and it has a few really funny parts, but on the whole it just doesn't qualify as a really good comedy to me...Ah well guess i don't like to put everything in organized categories anyway.^^

Lofoc | 05-22-08, 10:39 AM
XD well you still have to watch a few days of One Piece before you catch up with me, since they are at episode 354 at the moment. And if your mind is still this clear after the party then i guess your still ok, allot of people just pass out from all sort of reasons after a party. ^^;
