My first anime was Totoro when I was seven years old. It's all been downhill since then. I've been collection manga since 2000 and have 400+ volumes I've collected since then. Now I just download it because I spent too much money...
I don't watch anime much because I don't have the patience for it and I know I won't learn any Japanese from watching them lolololol
My first manga was X/1999 but my favorite series include works by Junji Ito and Taiyou Matsumoto. Think indie and horror... that's the stuff!
Meanwhile, I'm an English major that's been to Japan and back a few times studyin' and travelin'. Hahaha it's nothing like anime.

In any case, welcome to MAL. :D I see that you also like the works of Junji Ito? I'm an avid fan of horror manga too. :] Wow, I wanted to buy the 3 volumes of Uzumaki at my local bookstore, but it cost like 10 bucks.
I also agree with you; I don't have time to watch anime, so I read manga instead. xD

I wanna read 20th Century Boys! But between other stuff I'm reading, my 6 months of free TV DVR, and FFTA2 it's so hard to find the time and energy to start new series!
