Yeah, the greatest mystery in the universe (at least to men) is understanding women! Although, I reckon that the opposite is true too for women. When I was that age, I was a "collarbone" man myself – it is one of the first things that is noticeable, but as I matured (comparatively speaking) I have discovered that I'm not so much as a "collarbone" man, but a leg man. Give me a redheaded woman (I'm partial to redheads) with legs as long as the day and I'm one happy Englishman! XD

Ah, so you're not one for dramatic series – especially those that make you cry. As for me, I sometime find crying rather cathartic. Although, like a typical bloke, I wouldn't want to cry in public – to me, crying is rather a private thing. My secret passion has been romantic comedies, but I can’t watch them all the time or I would just go insane! XD As for Clannad ~After Story~ I have not heard the rumour that there might be a surprise ending of any sort, but then again, I usually don't heard much on anime news unless it is reported on the MAL's News Forum, which unfortunately I don't read all too much.

In any case, I hope that you had a great day and that this post finds you well. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. =)

The thing I love about Kyou no Go no Ni (Today in Class 5-2) is because it reminds me about how I was when I was in fifth grade (10 years old). It was the time where I started noticing girls and something more than friends (way past the cooties stage) and every sexual word or sexually sounding/alluding word was giggled at – a time of embarrassing bodily function and blushes and awkwardness around the opposite sex. Why in Hell would I look back at that time fondly?!? XD Although, I still have no idea why girls would spontaneously giggle at me, when I look at them.

You're a Tomoya × Nagisa fan? Huh, you're the first one that I've encountered in my MAL friend's list. There were three other times where this conversation came up and they were all Tomoya × Tomoyo fans. As for me, I'm not in any particular shipper, but I'm usually a fan of the underdogs. Thanks for the warning about the film, I've been told by many people not to watch the film before the end of Clannad ~After Story~, so you can imagine that I'm both intrigued and impatient to watch the film, but I will wait.

In any case, I hope that you are having a great weekend and that this post finds you well. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. =)

I agree that D.Gray-man is one of the better shounen series currently airing, but I find it surprising that it's difficult to find decent pictures of it on the net, because I always thought that it was a rather popular anime series. You know what I find is also really useful is to use alternative title or spellings to find the pictures or even the Japanese name! Using D.Gray-man as an example, MAL list another alternative title: D. Grayman that someone else might use or even the spelling of gray there are two official spellings: gray or grey and another might use the second spelling. Monster is also really good too! It is one of the few tens that I gave for a series! I'm also really enjoying watching Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch R2, though those cliff-hangers will be the death of me!

As for the current anime season, I agree with you that anything really pops out – there are a couple of sequels to series that I have already watched that I might download once all the subs are released, but I'm not actively following any of them. The up-coming autumn season however, there are a lot of series that I'm interested in watching. Some of the series that I'm interesting in (no particular order): Today in Class 5-2, Jigoku Shouji Mitsuganae, Vampire Knight Guilty, ef – a tale of melodies, Clannad: After Story, and Rosario and Vampire Capu2.

In any case, I hope that you have a wonderful day and that this post finds you well. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. =)

Love the new avatar! Although, I am surprised that it was so rare to find Allen Walker in his Clown Crown form, but I'm glad that you finally found one that you liked. I haven't thought about using Photobucket as a search engine to find anime pictures – I have to try it out for my next avatar. Speaking of which, I will respect your wishes and not tell you the pattern of my avatars – you'll figure it out soon! =)

Yeah, I'm really lucky that MAL was my first and only online community. I think if I joined one of the other online communities out there – it may have disillusioned me from online community altogether! Speaking of which, thanks for sending me a friend's request, it saves me the pleasure of sending you one! =) Oh, and I promise not to rat you out to your mother for talking to strangers! =P

In any case, I hope that you had a great day and that this post finds you well. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. =)

Hmm... you must have been one of the few exceptions when it comes to Hikaru no Go, because I have told many people what the premise was about or have them read it for themselves and they already concluded that it was boring and decided not to watch it. Although, it is funny reading the reviews for the anime – they all start out pretty much the same way, "You would think that seventy episodes about a boy and an ancient board game would be boring, but..." or something to the vernacular.

Hmm... so you think that my next avatar would be Shinichiro Isumi... good guess and he will be an avatar, but not my next one or two for that matter. It is an interesting theory that you have about my avatars is the order that Hikaru Shindo meets when he learns more about go – I never thought about that. Let me tell, you that I am not that sagacious or the reasoning that deep, but I thank you for thinking that I might be! XD In truth, the pattern is much shallower and simplistic.

As for Allen Walker in his Clown Crown form – I'm sure that there is a picture out there somewhere. How many search engines did you check out. When looking for some of my pictures for my avatars, I had searched through multiple search engines with image galleries – I was even so desperate to use their Japanese name (characters and all) to look for pictures – remember not one search engines (with image galleries) have all the pictures on the net.

LOL! It wasn't that bad! I didn't start writing my post with proper grammar – it was more informal than that! XD The fact is I write better than I speak, because I have been writing proper essays for school for a long time and it has my writing voice always seems more older and eloquent than I truly am off paper. I just started writing in sentences and paragraphs when I first start here on MAL because I was ignorant and didn't bother researching how a typical post was written! XD

As for how I found MAL it was totally by accident; I was just surfing one day researching a particular anime (I forgot which one) when I stumbled onto this site. I trolled it for months and decided to take a leap of faith and make MAL my first (and currently only) online community, which I'm glad I did, because I've been told a lot of scary stories about other online communities.

In any case, I hope that you are having a wonderful day and that this post finds you well. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. By the way, I just noticed that both one of us hasn't sent a friend's request and I thought that I would rectify that oversight. Do you mind if I send you a friend's request, because you are one cool person and I would like to make it official and all. =)

Haha at one point I hated Siesta because of the harem stuff but now she's just pure comical gags. XD

Episode 2 was lotsa lotsa fun lol! Did you watch it yet?

ChiBuki | 07-14-08, 10:13 PM
Hahaha yeah. Lots of people was turned down with the last moments but the whole episode overall was great imo. And here I am still waiting for second episode to be subbed >_<

I can understand your initial reluctance in watching anime, because I was the same way too. For years, I have relegated anime in the same company of cartoons – that I have outgrown them. Of course, this was an uneducated supposition of anime, but I never really investigated/researched it, until the summer after my freshman year at university when I learned how diverse anime could be.

I'm glad that Hikaru no Go had made the same impact to you as for me, because when I tired to recommend it to people two things always seem to go against it. First of all, the premise of the story, it doesn't really seem that exciting, after all it is a story about a boy, his ghost and an ancient board game. The second, is the sheer length of episodes, while not the biggest anime in history, it is still rather large. Regardless, Hikaru no Go would forever have a special place in my heart, no matter how dated the animation gets or how forgotten in the annals of anime history.

Actually, it was my first avatar that wasn't from Hikaru no Go – it wasn't from any anime for that matter. My first avatar was a picture of me, which can still be seen on my bio page. It wasn't until mid-December 2007 that I decided that I needed an avatar from an anime. It took me ages to find one, but by mid-January 2008, I have decided on Hikaru Shindo and I had that one for quite the while. In April, I changed it to Fujiwara no Sai – it was here that I thought that I would change my avatar monthly. So, in May was Akira Toya, by the beginning of June, I thought it was too long between avatars, so I reduce the time to every fortnight and I have kept that cycle ever since. My following avatars were Kimihiro Tsutsui, Tetsuo Kaga, Yuki Mitani, and finally Yoshitaka Waya. There is a pattern to my avatars and if or when you figure it out, you can deduce my next one. =D

Thanks for being so understanding about my indecisiveness about my favourites – it is the second thing people noticed after my oddly long posts! XD I'm rather infamous for them around here on MAL, to the point where there are some who affectionately calls me Long Post-san/kun (or at least I hope it's affectionate). It all started innocently enough, you see MAL has the distinction of being my first online community.

So, when I started making posts and comments, I naturally followed the socially accepted rule of writing, i.e., in full sentences and paragraphs. It wasn't until about the fifth or sixth person that commented on my long post did I research it and found that the typical and average length of a post is approximately a sentence fragment long – if that! But alas, my reputation has been made and I don't mind it. I have over time become more succinct, but there are times where I would fall off the wagon and a long post would get away from me. XD

In any case, I hope that you had a wonderful day and that this post finds you well. Take care, enjoy your weekend and I hope to hear from you soon. =)

Hi! =) Thanks for posting on my profile page! It's always nice to log in and see someone new has posted on my profile page – especially from another Ontarian! In my opinion, any day is great opportunity to make a new online friend. =) Although our anime compatibility is rather mediocre, I'm sure that we could still find some other common ground besides anime. =P

Wow! It is rather peculiar how we both got into anime, perhaps we're kindred spirits of some sorts. I'm curious how did you get into Hikaru no Go? While in it's time, I've been told that it's a rather popular anime, nowadays most haven't heard of it. As mentioned in my bio, it was rather happenstance that my flatmate at that time was re-watching Hikaru no Go and I was bored enough to watch over his shoulder.

I'm glad that my profile picture of Yuki Mitani had caught your eye, it's just a shame that I planned to change my avatar today! XD Hopefully, you like Yoshitaka Waya as much as you did Mitani. As a rule, I currently change my profile picture every fortnight or so, but seven (counting this one) out of eight avatars of mine have been from Hikaru no Go. I'm really indecisive about some things, which explains why I have yet to list any favourites on my profile, but I decided that all my avatars from now on would be from Hikaru no Go to pay homage for being the anime that has introduced me into the world of anime.

I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty to read your profile page. It seems that I currently watching three anime that you have listed. I'm currently watching Bleach, D.Gray-man and Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch R2. How are you finding the Bleach fillers – while they're better than the average fillers, they're still fillers! I see, that you just finished watching the thirteenth episode of Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch R2, what do you think about it? An emotional rollercoaster of an episode isn't it? As for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, I have the series downloaded, but have yet to watch it, but I plan to watch it before the third season comes out (hopefully) and I've been meaning to download Great Teacher Onizuka for an eternity – I have to remember doing that some day!

All in all, I think I'll end my comment now, I don't want to scare you so quickly with all my eccentric idiosyncrasies at once and about the length of a post that I can truly write! XD In any case, I'm glad that you decided to comment on my profile page and it is in my hopes that we get to know each other better with future posts! =) Take care and I hope to hear from you soon. =)

One of the best I've seen. I'm just in awe lol. It's unlike anything I've watched before. Kids living in a half-virtual world running around with glasses and getting chased by machines~

I saw it recommended by people for Denno Coil. Looks like something I'd enjoy much. :D
