How I score for my animelist goes by...
10- Definitely watch, if not seen yet, you should make it a priority
9- Exceptional, the rare breed of anime that spawns maybe once a season
8- Good, Im pretty sure you won't be disappointed
7- Standard run-of-the-mill anime, generic or probably lack luster. Only "something to watch" worthy.
Anything below a 7 you shouldn't waste your time.
Also a huge Madhouse fan, most everything that has their name on it is worth watching
