I first encountered Witch Craft a few years back on a certain manga site. To my delight, last year it had an animation. It’s been my principle to NOT watch on-going shows, so I’m always late on what’s happening. You see, I just don’t like being left with cliff hangers. Anyway, let’s get on with my ever-so-late review.
Story: 7
With all honesty, I find Witch Craft’s plot very similar with a lot of seinen series out there. in this world, except zubats and dugtrios in a cave. Kidding aside, like I’ve said before, Witch Craft’s plot isn’t that unique.
The show is about witches, (thanks, Captain Obvious!) and Takamiya Honoka our princess—I mean our male MC. Takamiya is your regular high-school student who happens to sit and rides the same bus every single day with the most popular girl in his school Kagari Ayaka. One day, he takes out the trash from their room and disaster strikes our MC! Oh, don’t worry; it’s just a minor problem. It’s just a part of the school building… That’ll fall on his head. Of course, we wouldn’t want to end the show with just one episode and let Takamiya die. By unknown reasons, he was saved by Kagari Ayaka. And everything about his normal life will turn around because of this event. What will happen to Takamiya’s everyday regular life? Find out and watch it yourself.

Like I’ve said with all my previous reviews, we will rarely see unpleasant art these modern days. Back with Witch Craft’s; its art is nothing short of magnificent. Every bit is detailed, from the characters to the cute penguins, cats, rabbits, bears, snakes, which constantly appear background. Witch Craft’s art is respectable, period.
Sound: 6
Sound or music is a vital part of how good a series can be, too. From the special sound effects to the opening themes and closing themes, everything can be added up to judge how a series would turn to. As for Witch Craft’s, it’s sound effects during fight scenes were fine. What draws my attention was the ending theme done by the antagonist-esque five-women-group made titled, “Witch Activity”. Its upbeat tune made me gaga, and dance like a retard. Forget I said that. Anyway, the OP’s not that bad, either.
Character: 8
I like the way the characters turned out in the animation. When I first read the manga I thought that Kagari Ayaka was a guy. I mean, I wouldn’t even think she was a she if not for her big “plots”. Back to the animation, everyone had a stable role in the show; distinctive personality to match themselves and flawless picking of Seiyuu to voice them. The development of the characters weren’t that bad at all.
It seems like Takamiya has a knack for being unconscious every episode and when he wakes up, he shouts Kagari-san almost always. It’s not that bad, though, considering it’s a light seinen (more like a shounen for me) series from the start and he seems like to possess every being and characteristic of an idjet MC.
The blending from both the female MC and male MC is good, too. Although, I think they’ve been switched. With the entire cool-beauty aura surrounding Kagari and the feminine side of Takamiya who loves penguins. They complement each other well.
Enjoyment: 8
I enjoyed Witch Craft Works a bit more than I should. It’s definitely one of the better shows I’ve seen so far. Everyone has a genre they prefer to watch. As for me, I am a fan of these kinds of show, so you can say I’m a bit biased here. I don’t want to sound overacting on how I liked the show and making your expectation of it high, so I’ll stop here.

Overall, Witch Craft Works’ is not a superb show. But I’m not gonna deny its entertainment value. It was able to amuse me. And the other thing I liked about it was the light-hearted theme it possesses, unlike other dark-themed seinen shows out there. Tbh, I think it should be changed into a shounen rather than seinen. There are a lot of questions in need of answers, so I’m expecting a season two or some sort of sequel to it. All in all, Witch Craft Works is not a bad show. It won’t blow you off like other big-time series out there, but it’ll definitely pique your interest.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls.
“Oooooooooh, lookie-lookie! Another harem series rated with mild nudity!” --- Me
I’ve been a fan of harem series as long as I can remember. I don’t know; maybe part of it was because it won’t happen for me in real life. I know I’m not the only one who projects themselves as the protagonist, and that’s why, maybe, I don’t watch shoujo series at all. Enough about me spouting nonsense. Let us proceed further into my review of Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls.
Story: 7
Hyakka Ryouran’s story isn’t that great. But the setting will pique a bit of your interest. Why? It’s because of

the odd setting of the story. If you think that the story happened in the samurai era, which was in the past. You are wrong, mister.
The story happens in the early 21st century, in an alternate reality where the Tokugawa Shogunate has remained in power. 21st century, meaning computers (in fact they’re using Microsoft OS on their computers), airplanes, trains, etc. exist. So don’t get confused. I like the fact of mixing modern and feudal-era in the story. The setting is unique in its own way.
As for the story, a girl mysteriously appears in front of him descending from the sky and steals his first kiss. And voilà, he gained one of the girls he’ll be adding into his arsenal of samurai babes! There’s more to it than that of course. Buuuuuuuuuuut! You halfta’ watch the series yourself to understand it more. Considering that Hyakka Ryouran has only 12 episodes, (second season not included) it is in fact very short. The story’s really easy to grasp so you don’t have to worry about it.
You can say I’m lazy for not telling you the plot. Half of its true, half of it is I just don’t want to spoil you.

Hyakka Ryouran’s art is great. Or it’s just a biased opinion of silly self. Either way, Hyakka Ryouran’s art is very appealing to me. Everything that was drawn was surrounded by these heavily inked borders around them. And the fight scenes weren’t half bad, too. In short, everything was bloody messed up with ink. But it comes with colours, too! Like black, purple, white. INK, INK, INK!!! Even sword slashes were inks.
Characters: 8
Considering Hyakka Ryouran’s a harem series, we should have a lot of bishoujous surrounding our MC. Oh and yes, did they deliver. An air-head; a loli (who is voiced by Rie Kugimiya); and a jealous-type girl. The supporting characters were decent, too. The lack of male characters in the story is quite disturbing. I’ve only seen two guys in the story. Oh whelp, who cares about males. What am I even saying? This show’s for guys anyway.
Sound: 7
I don’t know why, but the background songs in the fights scenes seem really familiar to me. For the OP theme and ED theme; I did like the ED theme which was done by Rie Kugimiya! The OP theme’s made by Faylan. They also made songs for Seikon no Qwaser, which, incidentally, is like Hyakka Ryouran. Although it’s a lot more mature than Hyakka Ryouran.
Enjoyment: 7
Did I enjoy it? Of course, my inner male did. But my inner plot-centred-self isn’t quite as happy as my inner male did. Why? It’s the lack of legitimate plot. What I irked me the most was the progress of the story. The first few episodes were good, explaining some things how this and that happened. But continuing to the middle episodes it got boring. What I mean is, the plot of the story doesn’t progress that much until the last few episodes. Nevertheless, the simple punches and sword swings that could tear the girls’ clothes really made me happy.
Overall: 7
Hyakka Ryouran’s far off from being called a masterpiece. It lacks a lot of essentials on how to be a great series. Looking at the fan service it provides, especially to adolescent boys, it’ll be a decent show, or better, a great show (for them). Let’s all face it, boobies and panties aren’t enough to wow viewers these days, or even make them watch the series.
My verdict: Hyakka Ryouran’s a good watch, not a “must-watch” series. But it’ll definitely entertain you.

Roller blades are cool, but motorized roller blades are waaaay much too cooler. This brings us to Air Gear. Air Gear is a show which obviously originated from roller blades. You either like the show or get annoyed at it for breaking the laws of physics (which most of the series out there do. dude, its anime).
Since I’ve just recently watched Air Gear, I have no idea what the manga version is. So to be precise, I’ll be doing this review for the animation only.

that shounen shows are jam-packed with cliché events. But that’s one of the many charms of the genre. As I was saying, Air Gear’s a generic shounen series. Minami Itsuki, or simply called as Ikki, is our protagonist. A hot-headed kid who got his assed kicked by a street gang member of the Storm Riders. Upon heading home he discovers a not-so-secret locked room in their house containing a pair of Air Treks, motorized roller blades. He wore the ATs and rode it for the first time in his life. Days after learning how to ride Air Treks, Ikki plans to build his own Storm Riders Gang. As he progresses deeper and deeper to the art of Air Trek, problems arise from left and right. To be able to reach the top, he and his gang needs to widen their territory and improve their rank to challenge stronger riders.

If you consider a show almost 9 years ago a classic (who am I kidding? 9 years is pretty damn long), then Air Gear’s art is pretty good. Air Gear’s arts differ in what’s happening currently in the show. For example: the background changes when they ride (AT riding, I mean) the art becomes CG enhanced; you know those cars in Initial D? Yes, they have those, too. There are different drawings for the characters, too. Like when Ikki makes a funny face which really differs from the original art. Some scenes were drawn a bit poorly though. There’s this one particular scene where Simca (one of the girls in Ikki’s mini harem) drawn really fat. I don’t know why, but I laughed way too much more than I should. Aside from the funny looking characters, Air Gear’s art is quite good.
Sound: 6
Music and soundtracks on Air Gear were fair. Background music during the show is decent, too. I kinda like the OP theme. As for the ED theme, I have no idea if the lyrics were English or Japanese. So I didn’t bother listening to it.
Characters: 8
Good thing the Oh! Great (Ooguri, Ito, is his real name. See the pun? I loled when I noticed it, too), the author of Air Gear didn’t name his characters wrestling names. Ito loves western wrestling. He named three dogs in the series Stone, Cold, Stunner (?). And there’s this one time when Ikki’s group is thinking of their group name, Kazu offered a name which contains a lot of wrestling finishing moves in it, I think it’s around stone cold stunner hammer pile drive and—ahh, I don’t know. Brushing off his love of western wrestling, Ito did a great job with the characters. He gave them the perfect personality and looks. They were drawn fairly well; Seiyuus did a fine job with the voicing (especially on Ume), too.
Enjoyment: 7
Air Gear’s pretty enjoyable. What kinda tick me off in the animation were the flashbacks. This may be biased basis but—it’s what I feel, no? So I’m going to say it anyway. I’m not a fan of flashbacks that much. And I seriously think Air Gear’s animation did a poor job in that category. The flashbacks were incomplete. You’ll be thrown into a what-the-heck-is-going-on situation most of the time. And honestly, Ito should’ve stopped with the useless love flashbacks for side characters. Apart from the annoying flashbacks, I have enjoyed Air Gear.
Overall: 7
Air Gear’s a good shounen series. It contains a lot of action-packed scenes; a mini harem; decent art; and likeable characters. I can’t say it’s a must watch shounen series, but it’s worth trying. 25 episodes (26 if you include the 1 special episode) for a shounen series is not that long. A fair warning though, if you don’t like or worse hate a show which breaks the laws of physics, you should probably stay away from Air Gear. Oh yeah, and it includes a bit of cliché moments—camaraderie moments to be more precise, which adds to the generic “shounen” series I was talking about earlier. Bottom line is, I liked Air Gear. It is definitely a decent watch for me.

First of all, I would like to announce that I'm an idiot for not finding this animation sooner, which is one of the better manga series I've read. For Pete's sake, I'm late for about three years. No use crying over spilled milk.
I write this review assuming you've watched the series. Worry not, it doesn't contain any spoilers. Oh and a little more, I've been writing a lot of reviews on MAL but I didn't read one of the guideline, "Don't include story summaries,

users already have the synopsis written for them.". I am ashamed of what I've been doing.

STORY 9/10
To be frank, I wasn't expecting any serious plot about Papa no Iukoto when I read it on 2009. I thought, "Lookie, lookie! Another harem series full of fan service and with three lolis in it!" (Loli lovers raise yer hands!).
After reading a few chapters of it; my perception about it instantaneously changed. I felt guilty judging it hastily.
Papa no Iukoto wa Kikinasai's offers a different--- a heartwarming story which I find very entertaining. It's a little bit tragic. Good thing the series focused more on the cheerful side of the story. It tells us about responsibility. Well, technically, no one would do this kind of big--- I mean, ginormous responsibility in real life. A 19-year-old kid taking care of three girls (two lolis and one adolescent girl, yes, I needed to clarify that) while studying at a university? Man, you have to be a superhuman to do that. Fortunately, this is just a show.
We all know how hard it is, but nevertheless, Yuuta (MC) tries his hardest to take responsibility for the three girls. Yes, it's foolish. But for Yuuta, family's the most important thing. That's why he tries his hardest to provide for the three girls. Bearing this big of a responsibility is like climbing a tree, with just one arm. It might seem impossible, but with great effort, it's still doable.
Honestly speaking, Papa no Iukoto's a lot better than most of the series that I have watched. Storyline wise, it's one of the best. Not too much drama in it; but nonetheless, was still enough to bring a tear or two to my eyes.
Art 8/10
The art is superb! Detailed characters, good background, and uhh--- okay, enough trying to be an art expert. Like I've been saying in my previous reviews (dumb reviews), art that doesn't please the viewers these days are a rarity. And Papa no Iukoto's not an exception. The art is great, period.
SOUND 9/10
Oh my God. Kitamura Eri and Horie Yui for seiyuus? Heck, yeah! I immediately recognized their voices the first time I heard them.Takanashi Hina's (the smallest girl) seiyuu has done a great job too! Being able to voice a three-year-old girl is no easy feat, and she did it with flying colors. Other seiyuus were perfect for their characters.
For the OP and ED. I. LOVE. THEM. BOTH. OP's done by Kitamura Eri; and the ED's done by Horie Yui!
CHARACTERS 8/10
Cute--- no, fantastically cute! The designs on the girls were great. Especially Hina, she's the cutest character here. Anyway, every character in Papa no Iukoto is good. They have their own unique personality, which is good. Even the supporting characters were designed perfectly.
Yuuta's a bit on the plain side, though.
ENJOYMENT 8/10
Did I enjoy it? Heck, I did! The slow development of the story didn't bother me that much. In fact, I liked it. Even though its a bit tragic, I love how simple the story has developed into. Every episode is filled with laughter, a bit drama, and heartwarming scenes.
OVERALL 9/10
Clearly speaking, Papa no Iukoto is one of the better shows out there. Its able to make you laugh and cry. It does not contain any heavy drama in it; and it doesn't have a complicated plot. We all watch to be entertained, no? It's just a matter of perspective. And if you happen to have the same perspective as I am, you'll love the show. Overall, it's a great show filled with cheerfulness and a bit of tragedy in it, just an itsy bit.

Man, I don't know where to start. Kenzen Robo Daimidaler. I encountered it while swimming through the depths of MAL. Even with the low "rating" it received from the viewers; I had to give the series a chance, so I watched it. The show was exactly the way I was anticipating it, which didn't surprise me. A boob show with little to nothing plot. Yes, me, too came here for "plots". If you know what I mean.

genres. As for the story, it's really easy to grasp what the story will be heading to just watching the first episode. I'll be rounding the little details, so you'll have a little idea what the show is about. Madanbashi Koichi, a perverted high school student who possesses a power known as "high-ero" (you might already have an idea how he powers up by now) partices is being recruited by Universal Hair Cut Alliance, an independent group who battles against the Penguin clan with giant robot known as Daimdaler. They're fighting with the penguin clan, a clan with huge di--- I mean, front tails. That's what they call them at least.
That's basically the gist of it.

Decent art, attention to details are great, especially on those mountains with marbles--- pink marbles at the top of 'em. Your inner manly side will come out in no time, you naughty bastard. Nothing to mention here anymore.
Characters: 7
The robot designs? I dont know what to say, maybe they were drunk when they drew it. It makes sense though. Why? Because Kenzen Robo's not a serious series. Not in any single way. Well, duh? As if something like groping someone's chest to power up would be serious. But then again, Seikon no Quaser's a serious series. Ugh, now I'm confused. Anyway, let's get back to talking about the series before my poor brain breaks down because of thinking too much.
Aside from the silly robots, the characters are fairly good. Knowing that the protagonist is a pervert, it would only be natural for him to be surrounded by girls wih voracious bodies. Don't get me wrong though, this is not a harem show, so girls won't be frolicking around Koichi. And I would like to nominate the Shouma and Kiriko for the most idiot couple of the year (2014, that is.). Kuhhhhhhh, man, they're one annoying couple. You'll see when you watch it.

Silly lyrics put up with rock theme, the opening that is. I wonder if the singer laughs inside when he thinks of the lyrics. The ending theme’s a lot more cutesy than the opening theme. Not much to mention anymore.
Enjoyment: 6
Is the series full of unnecessary fan service? Yes. Is it normal for shows to have this much fan service? No, but in the market now? Yes. Did I not enjoy it? A bittersweet yes and no. A part of me says “Yey! I get to ogle at mountains with marbles--- pink marbles for free." (Might as well watch a hentai if you're looking for a lot of those). And another part that says "Can anyone remind me why I'm wasting my time watching a series with little to no plot?" (In case you're curious, no one reminded me because I'm alone as heck ╥﹏╥). In short, the series is chuck full of "plots" but, not enough justifiable plots to back it off. I can't say I really enjoyed the series, but it definitely gave me something to do at my lonely nights.
Overall: 6
A show with poor story and full of fan services, which pretty much sums up Kenzen Robo Daimidaler. And the story progress is waaaaaaaay too fu**** up. It's like, something doesn't go well for this character in one of the episode and by the next episode he/she gets the candy for being bullied at the last episode. You get it, do you?
Most of the jokes in kenzen are puns using Japanese. In short, they won't make any sense for those who can't speak Japanese. Figures.
If you're looking for a serious story, I advise you not to watch this. But if you're interested with mountains with pink marbles, you should give it a try. A fair warning though, the story is plain as a blank paper.

Barakamon… Ah, the feeling of watching something so laid-back is really refreshing. First thing that came into my mind when I heard Barakamon was, to tell you the truth, Digimon. I’m sorry, I really am! Good thing I was wrong. Phew. * wipes sweat *
At first I was like, “Pshhhh… Another gorgeous looking guy. I bet this show will target adolescent girls.” But, MIGHTY ZEUS SMITE ME FOR BEING AN INSOLENT FOOL! I am wrong in million ways.
I’ll keep my review short and simple.
Story: 8
Handa Seishu is a 23-year-old calligrapher (most good-looking you’ll ever see). He’s forced to live on a small island

for hitting a well-known calligrapher. Handa is a shut-in by nature, but he has to live on an island entirely foreign to him. With his new “silly neighbors” who practically trespass his house, invades his privacy, and plays in front of his house, how will Handa handle his situation with these people? You’d know after watching this hilarious comedy.
Laid-back as a sloth, Barakamon’s plot I mean. It’s not a bad thing, at all. In fact, it’s one of Barakamon’s redeeming factors. It can make you smile… a lot! And the best part, you don’t have to think about any complicated plots. I highly recommend Barakamon if you aren’t looking for any plot-heavy series, but just a plain laid-back and relaxing show that’ll bring you lots of smirks, if not smiles.

Perfect sceneries and perfectly drawn characters = 9. Not much to say in the art department.

* sigh * I wish my little sister was this cute? Oh, I’m talking about Naru, an adorable 7-year-old kid who always hangs out and plays with Handa. You can say she’s the most adorable character in the show. Second is Hina, a crybaby who’s always with Naru (also an adorable little human). In short, every single character in the show compliments each other. They fill out each other’s “missing link”. For an example: Handa’s a pessimist by nature, but almost everyone in the island is a positive thinker, especially Naru. You get it now, ne?
Music: 8
2 songs for a 12 episode show. Opening theme is done by Super Beaver, which I find great. And the Ending theme’s done by NoisyCell titled “Innocence” which is not entirely bad, too.
Enjoyment: 9
I ENJOYED IT. I ENJOYED IT. I ENJOYED IT. It has been a while since a no-deep-plot show had made me this happy. There’s more to Anime than deep plots, bouncing boobs, sword-fighting, etc. And what’s that? Simplicity—simple things that make us laugh. Sometimes I forgot how something not-so-special show like this could bring a smile to my grumpy-Asian face.
Overall: 9
9’s a perfect score for me to give to Barakamon. Like I’ve been saying, there’s nothing special with the series. It’s a simple show that can—will make you laugh. It’ll also teach you a thing or two about being mature, I think.
Overall, Barakamon’s been a great show for me.

First and foremost, I will make my review spoiler free as I can. It’s safe to read even if you haven’t watched the show.
Let’s start me review, shall we?
Story: 7
During early 20th century, by discovering “Magic circuits”, scientists found a way to give life to countless things. These magic circuits are made from complex magic and highly developed technology. Akabane Raishin is a puppeteer attending Royal Academy. Together with a beautiful teenage girl Yaya, who’s actually Raishin’s puppet. Royal Academy is a school specializing in training puppeteers and crowning them as “Wiseman”. Wiseman is a title given to the strongest puppeteers. Raishin has to defeat every single puppeteer in the academy to be crowned as a Wiseman.
That’s basically the gist of the plot. You’ll learn some more of it by watching it.
7’s a perfect score to gauge Machine-doll’s plot/story. Not so rare these days if you ask me.
Art: 9
Amazing CG battle sequences alone deserves a 9. Aside from the great CGs, the details on everything are smooth. This wouldn’t surprise most of us by now. It is 2014, nothing is impossible anymore (aside from me having a girlfriend). A point I would like to add, the manga’s art style’s a bit (itsy bitsy tiny bit) different from the Anime. Not much to mention here.

ONE YAYA, PLEASE! NO, MAKE THAT DOUBLE—NO, THREE PLEASE! An obsessed girl character isn’t that really rare for a harem. Female leads and supporting characters in Machine-doll doesn’t differ much from other harem girls. Every girl goes gaga for Raishin. Meh, wouldn’t be a harem show if he wasn’t flocked on by girls, no? Anyhow, every girl in his harem has their own different personality. Telling who’s who might spoil you, so I won’t utter any word about them. They’re all drawn perfectly, breast size, pantsu color—I’m not trying to sound like a pervert, ok!? Lastly, they’re all waifu material.

Given that the series has only 12 episodes, there’s only one OP and ED theme.
Maware, maware, maware, maware, maware, maware, maware, maware. Don’t mind me, I’m just singing my heart out. That’s the catchy ending theme of Machine-doll. The seiyuu(s) sung it themselves! Yaya’s singing in it, too, of course. It’s so catchy I’ve been playing it for numerous times, even now while I’m writing this! I didn’t like the OP theme though.
Enjoyment: 9
I enjoyed Machine-doll a lot more that I had expected. Part of it is it’s been a while since I’ve watched a series with these enough fan service. The occasional pantsu shots and "other" fan service moments were satisfying for me. After all, these are what most viewers (not counting out myself) find attractive. So if you’re a fan of harem/ecchi/seinen/action shows, you’d definitely like Machine-doll.

I first encountered Machine-doll, if I’m not mistaken, around 2012, ‘course it was on a manga site. I click on the advance search button, clicked genres: ecchi; seinen; harem; action (three of them are my favorite genres). And then, BAMF! Machine-doll was on the first page of the results. That time, Machine-doll was about 25+ chapters. So you can imagine how hang-up I am when I finished reading them. Then last year, Machine-doll has finally turned into an Anime! I was so happy I forgot to watch it for a year (lol. Actually, I forgot to put it on my watch list).
Plot-wise, Machine-doll isn't really a rarity these days. Truth be told, I find it "most common". But that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. A lot might overlook Machine-doll because of the common plot. I find the 12 episodes too short for a series to show its real plot—how deep it is. Or maybe, Machine-doll is a failure because it hasn’t showed any serious developing within the 12 episodes? Nevertheless, Machine-doll is still a working progress, so it has a lot of potential to get better. I just hope they won’t take too much time. Lastly, I assure you that Machine-doll isn’t a waste of time. But, sadly, if you’re a fan of “deep-complicated” plots, you better pass this up. Ultimately, don’t let an amateur so-called reviewer, such as me decide for you.

Black Bullet... First off, the review I’m about to write doesn’t contain any spoiler. So it’s safe to read even if you haven’t watched the show yet. A lot of you might think Black Bullet is just another Harem story, well, you sir, are correct. And a bit off, too. Why? ‘Cause Black Bullet’s a lot darker than your average shounen-action-series out there.
Story: 9

a member of Tendo Civil Security. Along with his Promoter, Aihara Enju our main Loli, one of the many “cursed child” (I don’t need to explain this, you’ll be introduced to them early in the show). Together, they are tasked with completing missions given by the higher-ups. That’s basically the gist of the show. Further explanations will result to spoilers, and you don’t want that, right?
You might think it’s quite high, no? But 9 is a reasonable score for Black Bullet’s plot, and plot twists, lots of it!

Like I’ve been saying with my past reviews, “We rarely, most likely, not see any art that’ll disappoint us these days.” Primarily, because of the technology today. It is not a bad thing at all. Most of the shows today are crappy, to tell ya the truth. And guess what their redeeming point is? It’s the effin’ art. A shitty-show with great art will still attract lots of viewers. After all, most of us “Judge the book by its cover”. Well enough with my shitty-ass lecture. Black Bullet deserves a nine in art on every aspect. It has great details on everything. Enough said.

Loli(s)!? Loli(s)!? Loli(s)!? LOLITAS EVERYWHERE!!! Yep, 80% of Black Bullet’s world is composed with lolitas. Jk. Although, there are “a LOT” lolitas in the show, which makes me happy! Don’t get me wrong! I am not a lolicon! I swear on me mum (guilty).
Jokes aside, Black Bullet’s a harem show. So Rentaro will be flocked on by girls (mostly, little ones). Every character in the show compliments Rentaro’s personality, which is a great thing. Each one of them are drawn perfectly, to supporting casts, to the main characters. No character has been short of personality.
Enjoyment: 9
I absolutely enjoyed Black Bullet, no sarcasm intended. Or maybe I just enjoyed it because I’ve watched it after watching Neon Genesis Evangelion, I wonder? I enjoyed watching the show. Although, it’s a bit short, it was able to portray where its plot headed to. No episode disappointed me, everything was placed well. The “calm before the storm” episodes were quite heart-warming. Black Bullet’s story telling impacted a lot on me. I mean, it can make you smile at one episode and it’ll make you feel devastated at the very next one.

The fact that Black Bullet is not your typical shounen show which consists only of cliché-one-liners is damn great. Although, a lot might say the show's a bit grim. Reality's fairly grim, too, no? Black Bullet exceeded my expectations. With the way the plot has turned to, with all the plot twists. It fairly deserves a 9! Overall, Black Bullet is a great show. The balance of heart-warming episodes to action-packed scenes are totally great.
Ok, I break my promise right here. I’m about to write where I think the plot is heading to. *WARNING* *DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GET SPOILED*
With all the deaths and plot twist that happened in this season, a season two is inevitable, I guess?
Black Bullet’s brimming with potential. Yes, I just love protagonists turning into antagonists! With Tendo Kisara’s dark side awakening, I can imagine something big is happening! I just hope Kadokawa won’t make us wait any longer!

Evangelion. One of the craziest things I have ever watched. It’s really hard doing a review about this show. But I’ll try my best to do it without any spoiler.
First off, I want to tell you—the reader, that I have only watched the series last two weeks. So I’m not particular with the movies and the upcoming ones. So my knowledge about the whole thing is limited. So please enlighten me if I make (will make, surely) a mistake, ok? Will be happy if you teach this uninformed dummy here. So I will start my honest review about the show.
Story: 8
Everybody loves Shinji-Kun’s dad—Ikari Gendou.

The end. Jk. Only half, though. Kidding aside, the story’s about Ikari Shinji, a 14-year-old kid who’s got serious introvert problems. He is forced to pilot a giant, human-like robot named, Eva(s), to combat Angels. Angels have started to descend from the unknown, not the Angels with flashy, feathery wings which were depicted from the Bible. But Angels who are Alien-like life forms, in colossal, if not, massive sizes. Yes, Aliens named as Angels. As to why they’re named Angels, I don’t have a clue. Shinji doesn’t have a clue what these things are, neither was he briefed about it. Long story short, his * insert insult here * Father, Ikari Gendou, called him to go to the facility and pilot the thing himself, because the city is under attack by an Angel. Shinji, furious to hear the reason why he was called, didn’t want to pilot the Eva. That’s basically the gist of it. I don’t want to end up summarizing the first 5 episodes. Ok, a feedback on Evangelion’s story. First things first, I enjoyed most of the episodes; It’ll make you excited, laugh, scratch your head a little, cry a bit. Not until the later episodes, which will crack you up like a pistachio nut. Why? I’ve been asking that myself, even after finishing the show, I still do. Yes, it’s that mind-boggling. Some say, “Evangelion’s ending is the crappiest thing that ever happened in the history of Anime”. Surely, it was a shocker, and I didn’t expect that to happen, nor did anyone. I was bitch-slapped-surprised of what happened. Anyhow, Evangelion’s story is different from Anime(s) these days—wait, let me rephrase that, Evangelion’s a “LOT” different from Anime(s) these days. There are many reasons why it differs from the shows these days. The show didn’t rely on bouncing bewbs to attract viewers, just skin-tight-tights. Just kidding. It’s because of the unique (?) plot, unexpected ending, and mind-boggling theories about the perspective of life that’ll change your view about it instantaneously.

Considering that the show came out when I was just a 4-year-old toddler, its ‘effing marvelous! Many shows didn’t have Evangelion’s art at that time. It’s impressive that they manage to make their art that good those days. But it can still rival some shows’ art these days. It might be the best drawn classic Anime show I have ever watched.
Characters: 9
Let’s see, characters in Evangelion come’s in all shapes, colors, sizes, and personality! We have an, introvert (Ikari Shinji), an emotionless white-as-snow-kid (Ayanami Rei), an attention-whore (Asuka Langley), an itchy-whore (Misato), mom and daughter who’s obsessed with one guy with a family, and the most insensitive parent you’ll ever see, a womanizer, a war-geek, a class-representative-who-we-all-know-would-be-in-love-with-an-idiot-character, an idiot character, bunch of crazy-weird-ass Angels, and finally, a Penguin named, Pen-Pen. Did you imagine all of those elements being blend together!? No, right? I mean, it’s like a freak-show of personalities! Anyhow, I liked every single character Evangelion had. They have their unique traits which separates them with the others, and compliments with the others. It’s a perfect blend.
Music: 9
Although, there are only two music for the whole 26 episodes, I loved it. Cruel Angel Thesis has been a national anthem for me (stupid trivia: Katsura Hinagiku from Hayate no Gotoku! has a version of it, check it out if you like). Fly me to the moon is a classic adored by many, so it adds up to the greatness of the music (for me).
Enjoyment: 8
Did I enjoy Evangelion? Yes and maybe. Yes, because it was entertaining, brain-clenching, and maybe because I haven’t watched any shows for about a month or two. Nevertheless, it really entertained me, not that much, though. It’s not on my “must-watch” list, but definitely a good watch.

A score of 8 is pretty feasible for Evangelion. Far from being perfect, and way far to be ugly, too. Thoughts like “Why am I even watching this?” and “What the crap is happening?” crossed my mind, not once, but a lot of times. Evangelion’s great, great at making the viewer feel what the characters are feeling. It’ll make you laugh, cry, and hate (this particular emotion ran through me throughout the series). I was up to the point of cursing someone in the show for being an insensitive bastard, I wanted to go inside the show and shoot that motherf***** right in the face. I was swayed emotionally by the show, it was a good thing, I think? I’ve felt how Ikari’s feeling at times, sure, it won’t doesn’t sound surreal—but I kind of understand him. Evangelion is way, waaaaaaaaaaay far off from all the “generic” shows out there. To tell you the truth, I was a lot disappointed about how the show ended. If you ask me, honestly, I think they made the ending like that just to make lots of alternate endings on it. I mean, with that kind of “world-self theory (a self-term I stupidly invented)”, they can make hundreds, if not, thousands of alternate stories about it. Not that I hate what they’ve done. It’s just that… It’s frustrating. I mean, all that 20+ epic episodes just for that ending? I can’t imagine the look on the faces of those who watched the series on free TV. It must have been really pissed them off. But hey, don’t let a nobody like me decide for you if it’s good or not. Try it out yourself.

Story's set in Asia
My lack of knowledge in Marvel universe is little to nothing, aside from the mainstream live-action movies that's been made, I don't know anything else. And then I stumbled into western comics made into anime. It piqued my interest to the fullest. I didn't had the chance to watch Wesley Snipes when the live-action was made(I was too young for it; I'll watch it in the near future). Story - 7
Being that Blade is originally western, of course the animation will be western-esque. But it's really fun seeing Blade use Ruroni Kenshin's techniques(jk, obviously). In this animation, Blade's fighting an organization called Existence, led by Deacon Frost. An organization chuck full of vampire hybrids. He stumbles with a hot chick named Makoto, who's a vampire hunter, too. She was traveling with his father and got caught up in an event which turned his father into 'one of them'. Eric Brooks, also known as Blade, who has no choice ended Makoto's father's life. Angered by Blade's actions, Makoto tries to avenge his father's death by ending Blade's life. But of course, we all know they'd end up as partners, and yes they did. They team up against Deacon Frost's vampire-hybrids in Asia. They even get to team up with the most popular mutant ever... * drumrolls * Wolverine! Yep, a sexy, Japanese-speaking Wolverine(comes with his usual crazy overgrown sideburns). Too bad its just for one episode, but, meh, who cares? It's effin' Logan! Back to the story, it's a bit different from the comics you've read about Blade. Which I find refreshing.

Great art. Like I've mentioned before, the animation's pretty western-esque. Details on the fight scenes were awesome.

The addition of Makoto and other characters blended well with Blade. Wolverine's cameo, Kikyo(regenerative Kenshin Himura, lol). And the hybrid vampires are cool, too.

Not much to mention in music. Opening and ending themes were just instrumentals, still cool, though.
Enjoyment : 7
Probably enjoyed it less than what I was hoping for. Still, it was still entertaining. It's a pretty decent show. But I think hardcore Marvel fans won't go gaga over the show. Well, as far as I know, Blade's not that mainstream unlike Wolverine or the Avengers, so nobody would mind even if the animation's not that 'great'.

7 is the perfect score Blade can get from me. It's not that good, yet it's not bad. The series is entertaining. Good rivals, decent storyboard, decent progressing of the story, and one epic twist. I could say that Blade is a good watch, not if you're a hardcore comic Marvel fan. The show's kinda R-13, so don't expect some gory shites out of it. With this, I end my review, have fun watching Blade slash some vamps!
