playmakerzam,

It sure is difficult to rebalance one's circadian rhythm. That's why some suffer from monday blues. ~,~'

Maintaining two sites instead of just one might become an extra hassle in the long run. I'm not sure if I'm even going to get enough or any visitors with just one. >,<

playmakerzam,

Gantz c375, which will be published in 3 weeks, will probably be the ending. ^,^'

Been reading more manga and watching less anime these past few weeks. ~,~

Still contemplating if I should use .cu.cc or .tk for my website. Was supposed to be use my years-old .co.cc one, but that provider terminated its services just this November. Also lost my blackapplehost account when they stopped providing free hosting half a month ago.

Wow! 1/3 of the world now uses the internet. Such a large contrast to "less than 3%" when I first went online 18 years ago. >,<

Hmm, maybe I should create two sites. One to initially test a folksonomy-driven messaging system and the other would have the entertainment media tracker with alternative rating scheme.

playmakerzam,

As far as I know, there are only 370+ chapters of Gantz so far. I'm wondering why you have 399 entered in your list. ~,~'

It's only a little over a month since I bought my new machine and the hard drive is already on the verge of crashing! It was making disturbing puttering sounds last night and during my most recent attempt to boot, it got stuck after the password verification screen. I don't know if I can backup my data, but that would involve buying another hard drive which would mean getting another loan from Mom. Sigh. ~,~'

Meanwhile, I have installed Xubuntu 12.04 64-bit regular edition on my old external 30 gig. Now I know that a fresh install takes 10 gig (in contrast to the 6 gig that Xubuntu 10.04 64-bit alt occupied). I'm having

Despite the good news that I'm already recovering from my almost month-long illness, I'm likely not going to be visiting MAL regularly for a while. No manga and anime implies no updates for my lists. I should be taking time to tidy the house (not just my room) anyway. Hopefully, this depressing restriction will also push my website project ahead.

playmakerzam,

I'm supposing that a tourist and a worker will both see a different of a foreign country's culture.

Mom took me on a vacation to Japan around a decade ago. She had been slightly aghast when she realized too late that I can't actually communicate in nihongo. She didn't notice that the anime I had been watching had subtitles. She's quite the resourceful person and we got by with the occasional doodling on a memo pad. With the exception of the few too-busy-to-even-look-at-you executives, most people are accomodating and some would even accompany to your destination (if it's walking distance) even if it's out of the way. Asian countries are known for being hospitable after all.

My younger sibling works in a company that is affiliated with a known Japanese company. Two years ago, he was sent there for a year of training. I found it slightly odd that when he came back that he still didn't know about vocaloids. Hahahaha! ^o^

Thanks for the warning. Given I have enough free time, I also try to watch bad and mediocre stuff to expand my mind. Judging from MAL's skewed average scoring system, a title has to be around 8 or above to be an almost certified entertaining piece. That of course still highly depends if you like the tropes and genres involved in the first place.

Your career seems to require a lot of math. >,< (Oh, right. Facepalm. Engineering. Haha!)

playmakerzam,

You're welcome. ^o^

Since I don't know where you're from, I can't even begin to hazard a guess why you would want to live in a foreign country especially one where a lingua franca like English is barely spoken. On the other hand, vacationing for a few days or weeks and immersing yourself in another culture is quite the experience. ^,^

Now that I have a little time (reworded: currently taking a short break from catching up on anime), I have finally taken more than a cursory look at your lists. There are a few I've never even heard of before.
  • Boku, Otaryman
  • Halo Legends // Well, I vaguely hearing about that there was going to be an animation based on the xbox game, but I thought it was a cartoon. :P
  • Katte ni Kaizou
  • Jungle Emperor Leo: The Movie // After looking at the page, I learn that it's a movie about "that white lion". :B
  • Koi☆Sento
  • Norageki!

I'll check those out if I ever chance upon them. Your list is mostly filled with titles I've enjoyed myself so it's likely I might like those also.

I used to just add the anime entries as I finished them, but with the number of "in progress" series I am watching, it would be naive for me to simply rely on a local text file or spreadsheet for tracking them. I did that for manga before and it set me back for many, many months when I lost my local bookmarks to an unexpected hard drive crash.

Sadly, MAL doesn't have all the features I could wish for from a tracker. The developers have been adding superfluous improvements and the practical suggestions made the masses are often summarily rejected. Oh, well. Their roof, their rules. I only have to put up with while an alternative site hasn't been created yet.

By the way, what exactly does a civil engineer do?

playmakerzam,

Saw your comment on the wall of OrlahEhontas and got curious.

From time to time, MAL database entries get merged and usually it doesn't affect us. Even if it does, we often won't notice until a few weeks or months later when we realize a particular entry is missing from our list even though we are certain we had already added it a long time ago. >,<

The cutest scene for me is when the kid is spinning the float ring on her hips like a hula hoop.

I found the ending a bit disturbing considering there doesn't seem to be any lifeguard in the vicinity! ~,~'

Don't know if I got my folklore right. The dugong used to be mistaken for mermaids. I've seen one once while inside an underground aquarium which made me question the veracity of that story. Haha! ^o^

It was a nice review. A few to many spoilers, but overall pretty good. One major problem with it though is that you neglected to name the anime you were reviewing. Thus turning a rather nice review into something un-useful. If you copy and paste the review into another review, but this time include the anime title, you'll probably have a good thing.
