I was actually really reluctant to watch this anime because most reverse harems have really horrible female characters. I have to say I'm really impressed with the female lead in this anime though but i will get into that later.

Plot - 6
For this plot i would have normally rated it a "7" for originality cause reverse harem's with a princess is very common but i deducted one point cause it's kind of like a "go to the manga" kind of anime. There is no closure in what they were trying to accomplish. It was still interesting to watch up until that point though.

Characters - 9
Okay, ... personally i think this is where this anime shines the most. The female lead to this anime actually has some character development! This is what made me like this anime the most. The fact that the Yona (the female lead) tries to change herself so shes not powerless.

Art - 8
I tend to rate more difficultly on art cause I'm picky like that. Originally i would have rated the art a 6 cause i don't really find it really beautiful. I bumped it up to an 8 cause of the backgrounds, the facial expressions and chibi (small) forms the characters take on randomly are adorbale.

Enjoyment - 8
I enjoyed watching this anime quite a lot. The comedy was really to my liking and it really balanced the serious moments in the anime. The reason why this anime isn't a 10 is because as i stated before its a "read the manga" type of anime- where it kind of just cuts off.

Overall - 8

I started watching this anime because i wanted to watch another mahjong anime as the only one i've watched before was "Touhai Densetsu Akagi: Yami ni Maiorita Tensai". I have to say I'm disappointed in this anime.
This review is solely based on the first season of Saki as i never watched the sequel nor do i plan on watching them.

Plot - 4
I think this is a very average kind of plot and not really unique in any sense, i was hoping that since Saki always gets a score of ±0, it would make the plot more interesting but overall its kind of average. The fact ... that the anime doesn't really explain the basics of mahjong makes me rate this plot lower than average though. People that don't have prior knowledge to mahjong are probably going to have no clue how this game works. In addition, although the anime is about mahjong it seems like they focus more on character relationships than they really do with the mahjong.

Character - 4
I don't actually see a character development inside this anime. It more like there's a strong opponent and they just end up beating them by using the same moves as they previously did.

Art - 6
Usually, i am really picky with art so i tend to rate it hard. The art in this anime wasn't beautifully eye catching to me nor was it ugly.

Enjoyment - 1
I came here to watch a mahjong anime but it seemed more like i was watching a shoujo ai (girl love) anime. This anime has a lot of girl love moments, i have to say there's like at least one "lovey dovey" moment in each episode. The anime also had quite a bit of fanservice, two things that i don't really enjoy watching.

Overall - 3
- Quite a bit of shoujo ai (even though its not tagged) and fanservice. - Doesn't really explain how to play mahjong
- Characters don't really develop

I first found this story by looking on a site to see if i could find the manga chapter i was searching for but i ended up looking at summary's of different manga's... at first the thing that caught my eyes was the pictures of the manga... most manga's i choose to read depends on 3 things. 1: has to have good pictures, 2: good plot, and 3: has to have 1 cute guy =D... well the thing that caught my attention was the pictures for this story and the plot... i got to say i really liked this story because i thought the plot ... was really good, but i the part i didnt like about this story was the ending, im not sure if its the ending though (chapter 6). i didnt like the ending because it didnt seem like there was closure.
