Still a novice in japanese. Got the basics down though.
I detest overly-emotional animes since I always think animes are supposed to be entertaining.
Love psychological factors in things. As well as pure comedy. And parodies.
My rating system:
10 - 8: Amazing & High re-watching value. Sorted it according to greatness and how many times I can rewatch.
7: Captivated me once completely. But cannot rewatch.
6 - whatever: So-so animes which I saw only due to boredom.
P.S. I love the Japanese culture of old and the whole Edo period thing.
Also, I'm a hentai guy....

yea I know! ^__^ I've been reading about Blade of the Immortal in the forums .. but I'm thinking of waiting until it reaches the halfway mark before I watch it. I prefer marathoning than waiting for an episode once a week.

I totally agree! love the movie .. especially Tom Cruise's Lestat >.< the movie adaptation of QotD disappointed me through .. far cry from the book.
But my fav Anne Rice novel is Cry to Heaven :) have you read it? a masterpiece for me ^_^
Dude, I'm so jealous of you .. you could actual see/look at a sakura tree whenever you feel like it ... I'm from a tropical country so no japanese garden for me. boo. ... (lol)

whoa freaky coincidence 0.o ... I got fascinated w/ vampires after reading Queen of the Damned. I think I was about 12 or 13. ... but it kinda died out by the time I started watching anime ... hehe got samurai fever from RK instead >.<

I actually liked Light during the first part of the series but yea, he did turn into an asshole ... :/
o well, if Code Geass is as witty as Death Note and its plot is freakin clever ... I'll stay away from it for now >.< might get addicted again. lol
I'm a vampire fan as well, in books that is. Big follower of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles .. haven't really watched any vampire animes though, just Blood:The Last Vampire (year 2000 is old for you? hehe 90's must be ancient then).

anyway, I was going to recommend you to watch Blood:The Last Vampire but your currently watching list is already long >.<
was really skeptic about this movie but I ended up giving it 8/10.

People are going crazy over Code Geass (in particular, over Lelouch) ... just checked the Top Anime list and it out-ranked my beloved Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen :( ... is it really that good?

Yeah, Samurai Champloo is pretty good. It turned out better than I thought it would be. xxxholic is supposed to be really good but I had to force myself through the first episode and I didn't like the animation style much, either. I guess I could give it another chance later.

Yeah, I understand wanting to participate in the discussions. You can still try to post in the series discussion boards or threads relating to the anime after it's finished airing, but it is less likely to be seen by many people... Unless the anime is still really popular for quite a while after it's done. So, I guess there are pros and cons to both waiting and watching while a series is airing.
As for my internet, I should eventually be able to get something better, but I have no idea how long it's going to take. It could be anything from days to years. >_<;
