I'm fairly new to it as well, we're noobies!
Hmm... You might like Bleach, Sword Art Online & Attack on Titan ( Shingeki no Kyojin )
Those are the only ones I can think of right now.
Bleach is 300+ episodes long so you might want to start off with SAO or AoT
If you're not into really long anime, all three of those that I listed are pretty good imo, check them out & see if you'll like them ^~^

Oh my gosh. Seems like we'll really get along well! :D I love horror and dark-ish genres too. You should check out Kazuo Umezu's and Hideshi Hino's works! You should also read Ibitsu! For anime, I can recommend Higurashi no naku Koro ni, Mirai Nikki, and Monster. Just tell me if you knew them already so I can find other recommendations for you. :D
