I am a devoted student of this exceptional art form, I always watch till the end of each individual anime. I like and enjoy manga too but I haven't got enough time to read more than a couple, maybe I will read more in the near future!
Besides anime I am a longtime japanese rpg player so I was interested in everything Japanese. It wasn't long time before I found my new time spending: watching anime!
This was many years ago but I haven't got tired of these wonderful series, features. Even after so much anime I always learn something new about life, experience, people, love, death, dreams and about that country in the far east.
I also study Japanese kanji characters, hope one day I will be able to read in Japanese.
I have many favorites but I enjoy animes from 80's and 90's the most. There is something in that era that feels close to my heart. :)
But If I have to choose my all time favorite it would be Macross. It just blew me away, I watched it several times. It had everything: great universe, mechs/fighter jets, giant spaceships, enigmatic characters, kick ass music, Basara! XD
I add an other favorite anime and its the other mecha metaseries: Gundam. It has the most well written universe and it gives a chilling mirror view of our own political standards, and it has amazing mecha action!
