I used to think that animes were for fobs or losers until my friend pressured me into watching Blood+, 2 years ago. Before that I had only ever watched Saiyuki and Slam Dunk, both which I love immensely. But after Blood+, I found myself so enamored with anime that I watched almost 60 anime series within the span of 2 years (though I'm not an otaku).
My favorite anime genres include psychological, seinen, shonen, adventure, and supernatural. If you have any titles to recommend, please leave me a message. Thanks!

Did you read my comment at all? I clearly said that I'm not belittling you but merely questioning you. Why must you feel as though you are under attack from a mere question? You seem to have early symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia.
I never called you names or acted as a superior to you. You create these delusions to defend yourself from the harsh reality of things.
You can watch anime for whatever reason you want, I don't care.
You're right the world is a battlefield, and just by being born into such a world means you have lost. Why would one want to live in such a world? In no way am I trying to act superior to you because I am the lowest kind of human. I know that I am, and always will be, inferior to others because I'm unfit to live in this world; I am not able to survive in this world. Life can be so simple if you try to live; however I became tired of living a long time ago and eagerly await the day that I can be set free from the binding chains of this world.
The only reason I watched Bleach was for the social aspect of it; you see I post of many forums and unfortunately Bleach is one of the more popular topics of discussion. So in order to "fit in" I watched Bleach and discussed it with them. I was desperate to have somewhere to belong, someone to talk to. I felt as if my life was nothing without others. But I realized the reasoning behind my actions and now I live in seclusion, isolating myself from others as I tell myself I don't need others to make me happy. Nothing can make me happy.
Congratulations, you are indeed superior to me, just like the rest of the world.

Manga is categorized into four demographics based on age and sex: Seinen, Josei, Shounen, and Shoujo. A demographic refers to the group of people something is aimed toward and I can only truely enjoy something that is aimed at my demographic (seinen), not young girls (shoujo) or young boys (shounen). That doesn't mean I can't appreciate a certain series that falls under those demographics (because I do), just that most of the series within said categories don't interest me.
This may seem closed-minded to you but I think of it as open-minded because I've given them a chance and didn't ignorantly dismiss them as something I wouldn't like. My Dropped list is proof of this.
You say "[other shounen anime] do not have characters as memorable as Ichigo and Naruto." I fail to see how these characters are "memorable". To me a memorable character is original and stands out, however they are both cliched characters that can be found in any other shounen, especially Ichigo; he has no personality and his only purpose in life is to protect his friends; he's just another Goku.
Anyway, anime is subjective and we're all entitled to our own opinion. I wasn't belittling you but rather questioning you.

After re-reading your comment multiple times I became curious, so looked through your list and noticed some peculiar things, one of which being that you gave Naruto a 10. You say you're 21 year old who has studied philosophy and yet you give Naruto the best possible score you can. Something as simple as Naruto gets a 10 from you? Are you saying it's flawless? That it's one of the best examples of anime you've ever seen? The pinnacle of anime? What all other anime should strive to achieve?
Don't try and make Bleach seem psychological, it's nothing more than just another shounen; they're all the same. Of course Jungian archetypes can be found in Bleach, they're found in all forms of literature throughout history.
You try and make it seem intellectual and deep when in actuality it's nothing more than something to entertain a simple-minded child. You're looking for something that's not there; a reason to justify you, a 21 year old woman, to watch Naruto and Bleach.
However, you may fall into the former category of people I mentioned in my review, the kind that watch anime purely for mindless action and no plot. You say that if you want to think you could simply pick up a book, as if anime/manga does not contain the kind of intellectuality that would satisfy you. If that's what
you think then you're simply not looking hard enough.
Don't bother responding to this if you're going to try and defend Bleach any more by trying to make it seem like more than it actually is.
Feel free to delete this message, as most of it was fueled my hate of shounen and has nothing to do with you in particular.
10/10; I raged.

Comparing Bleach with Jungian Psychology? That's an interesting way to look at it. But I think you're making it more complicated than it actually is.
Anyway, I'm not saying I hate all shounen; I enjoy D.Gray-man.

If you liked Paprika, you might like Perfect Blue; it's also by Satoshi Kon.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni; give it at least 4 eps before you drop it.
As for a psychological/seinen I recommend Nijigahara Holograph and Monster
I noticed you have Texhnolyze on your Plan To Watch list. It's kinda of slow paced but it's well worth it to follow it to the end. It has a beautiful atmosphere and great feel to it.
You dropped Planetes and Cowboy Bebop? H-how could you? ;_ ;

I responded to your comment on Tite Kubo's page. Not that you care but you prolly wouldn't have known if I didn't tell you. I mean it's not like you check his page periodically.... do you?
And since I'm on the topic of Tite Kubo, I wrote a review of Bleach that expands on my thoughts posted on the mangaka's page. Not that you care but I thought it would help you understand my opinion on Bleach as a whole.

You know how you like Shounen? Why not try Gintama? It's like the funniest Shounen series that's currently airing. At first I didn't like it but a few episodes later wooooo I couldn't get enough of it.
