Apparently, in some parts of the world, the statistics up top would make me some sort of Anime Reviewer God. By some parts of the world, I mean places like Vanuatu.
While I've dropped over 100 anime, I have instituted a New Year's Resolution as of 2012 that I won't drop or leave anything incomplete if I intend to review it. Note that I do not, by and large post reviews here, as I already have a venue for that.
No, I have no intention of "catching up" to anyone else. After running THEM Anime Reviews for a decade, I'm simply not the rabid fan I used to be. But I've got a special someone to watch anime with nowadays which proves I could *always* be motivated to get back in the saddle now and again. I'm just too busy with my life these days, but in a good way.
However, thanks to sites like Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, and NicoVideo, I don't have to worry about torrents anymore! (Though I've been around long enough to remember relying on VHS fansubs. Y'all are spoiled!)
Note that the manga list is horribly incomplete, it might take a while to get where it should be.
"Moe" is just about the least useful adjective I've ever seen, despite the fact that a lot of people would probably use that word to describe my wife, who is several inches shorter than Taneshima Popura (no joke).
I am a full-time Walt Disney World Cast Member. This means that I am not publicly reviewing anime released by Disney and its subsidiaries for the foreseeable future as this would comprise a conflict of interest with my employer (obviously existing reviews don't count). There are also a lot more anime fans here than you'd ever imagine. :3
I do not self-identify as otaku, and certainly not weeaboo. Got way too much on my plate to ever qualify for those titles. A better term would be dilettante, or fact-collector, seeing as I also do this sort of thing with field biology (birds, butterflies, plants), genealogy, aviation, NCAA football ...

0.3% actually. Might have something to do with the stuff I've been watching recently, and the slight alteration I make on my ratings as I go.
Need to find something to replace Sengoku Collection now, though.
As far as Yama no Susume goes (and the whole lottery thing); Mid-July is actually not a very good time to go hiking unless you love being hounded by large hordes of flies. :-P

I know, right? And with 200 shared titles, that's really saying something.

I liked Yuu, and Arimi as well. I liked Ginta for a while until he forced himself on Miki, and afterwards lost all respect for him.
I didn't make it far enough to judge anyone else in the series. Did you ever pick up the DVD sets, incidentally? I imagine they're ridiculously expensive now.

I watched Marmalade Boy back before Tokyopop licensed it. Once they did, I stopped watching it.
And yeah, I really didn't like Miki at all. She's not that bad in the manga, but the anime version of her is a bitch. Meiko was just as bad.

My life is busy, but great.
Your posts on FB always sound good and glad to see you back watching anime.

Be honest, have you ever met a woman (that you are not married to :P) that was smart enough or mature enough for imouto-chan?
Well, I'm an only child so I can only tease, not understand the protectiveness older siblings feel. :P

lol @ you reading my THEM is useless for yuri info comment. :D The problem is not the backlog and the "mainstream" stuff, so to say, it's that 8 months of hiatus meant lots of random manga releases, new groups starting to release stuff, old groups disbanding (dynasty?! that was a sad day). I also think I kinda like spamming nomi with comments. And maybe that was a comment I should have made on the THEM boards instead of publicly. ^^;;;
I posted on why I enjoyed Rinne. Hardly earth-shattering, but it's the minor stuff that can add up and annoy - or not, in this case.
With all due respect to your sis-in-law, lesbians can have trashy lifestyle, Strawberry Panic drama. Doesn't everyone? lol. The last person I could call my best friend (and she probably still is, but we rarely meet nowadays) sure had her share of trashy encounters that left me O.o. Not that Strawberry Panic wasn't awful.
Also, if she is reading this comment for some reason, WE GOTTA WATCH PENGUINDRUM NAO! CALL ME! *ahem*

There is something about "Bodacious Space Pirates" that makes me wary. :D
I'm actually enjoying this season's Rinne (at least for now, and when's ep 4 coming out already...?) and rewatching Xamdou and Shion no Ou. Then I'll get into Penguindrum and possibly watch Hourou no Musoko tomorrow, in one go.
Not touching any Persona anime because I might still finish the games...

Ha, I did try to return to anime watching. I synchro-ed one episode of Senki Zesshou Symphogear with a friend and we both dropped the show like the slimy piece of rotten brain matter it is.
I'm giving anime another shot though. :D

Hi I just got your friend request. I like your self definition of Fact Collector. I spent my childhood gaining knowledge about animals, fish most often, and Lego pieces/set names. My anime hunts have benefited immensely from the skill.

I wanted to give it another go this time but Maria really hated it last time. Darn!
I gues so, who would have thought? I better hit them up next time for all my meals. As good as Taiyaki is...I just can't get over their little cake shops. Those are so good, and the cakes are so cute! (Not to mention the employees in the maid outfits too....YES!)

Osaka was awesome. I want to move there so bad.
We passed on the okonomiyaki this time because last time we weren't too impressed. However I did get a chance to try taiyaki this time. AWESOME!!!
