Guns+Vampire; no it's not a Rosario+Vampire episode name, though would be interesting if it was solely on the basis that guns would be present...

Guns+Vampires, no joke those are the two things you can't go 5 minutes without in this OVA well while I'm listing things I could throw in zombies, big guns, Nazis, WWII German weaponry amongst other things. Cliche yes but by no means bad, if you have seen the TV series or read the manga then you know what is going to happen. Having watched the series and reading it, it is by no means repetitive, that is assuming you liked the Hellsing franchise to begin with.

Probably the best OVA yet, art is done fantastically; lead flying everywhere being second only to blood and gore on the screen. Character's expressions are menacing to say the least and The Major is still short and fat.

For those who have not seen this it is not Rosario+Vampire (don't worry I slapped my self for mentioning it in the first place) not Blood+. It is John Rambo meets anime meets London meets vampire meets enemy vampires (minus machine guns[for Rambo]) (also minus traps).

World War II (Nazis or no Nazis) is a great treat for those history loving people here, they also throw a SR-71 in all it's over stylized glory like in the anime/manga. The FG-42 machine guns and the way the Nazi paratroopers (see part 5) are launched reminds me of the original Mobile Suit: Gundam which had me laughing when it intended to be serious.

All the characters or series I have mentioned are in no way comparable to the Hellsing franchise as it stands on it's own. If you haven't seen this hop on to YouTube and see a trailer, or purchase a copy. A must see if you like...

Soul Eater what can I say?
Without any justification I would say the best comparison would be the first 30 odd episodes of Bleach. The OP and ED have the best music in a while from artists such as T.M. Revolution and Tommy Heavenly6 amongst other artists. Battles are engaging, plot elements keeps the audience speculating due to numerous antagonists striving to accomplish their own individual goals. Nothing seems drawn out longer than it needs to be and even the fillers aren't half bad (and I hate fillers) Excalibur is more messed up and nit picky than the early Kid on a OCD fit.
Plot development so far is nice and smooth for the most part, and supporting staff mainly teachers play their parts right as opposed to more recent 2 minute short scenes where they pull off dues ex machina or get blown away like grunts.

The animation seems consistent and I don't notice anything special or horrible. I like this series for its consistency and lack of drawn out battles or arcs. Only down side is that I find my self wanting to know the back story of characters like Maka's parents or Shinigami-sama; then again I'm the kind of person who can read up on [INSERT GAME] lore to better immerse my self.

Pros- not drawn out; i.e. Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, Naruto/Shippuden keeps consistency.

Cons- lack of coherent back story for supporting cast and for "weapon" characters.

Would recommend, you have quite a bit of catching up to do. read more

ChäoS;HEAd though short is defiantly worth the watching, this series has numerous supporting characters almost all of them being female for better or worse. The protagonist Nishijou Takumi is a person that the targeted audience can relate to, being an otaku and gamer, (though given it's own unique twist in this series) must overcome some adverse task and comes to a greater realization of the world around him as all is not as it may seem, that being said character development spikes and reaches the precipice at the end of this show, the same can be said for the plot which only goes down hill from here; the ending is a let down but considering that it is... well the end it doesn't take away from the story that is being told.

Ending aside let's talk about the premise. Nishijou is browsing a BBS(forum) a recurring theme throughout the series and is introduced to the subplot which is the mystery factor akin to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni which many make a comparison to, without adding in any spoilers- the subplot results in the protagonist using a parody form of Google to do some research with some entertaining results.

Over all this anime sticks on my good side and the negatives are only only the results of my personal nitpicking. Story is great, weapons used are a fresh way of doing them in a while, character development could have been better but the amount of episodes which comprises the series limits the development as there are numerous characters which have their respective back stories developed. I enjoyed this and would recommend this.
