I’ve been watching anime since I was about 5 years old. Even as a child I already preferred it to cartoons because of its deep and compelling themes that the latter usually lacks. (Thankfully, there are more cartoons nowadays with depth compared to the ones that came out when I was young.)
I watch almost all kinds of anime, but I’m rather fond of shoujo series, although there has never been a shoujo anime that captivated me in the same way that other genres have.
My most loved series is Rurouni Kenshin. While some parts of the first season and all of the later episodes are uninteresting fillers with disappointingly mediocre villains, I can’t bring myself to give it a lower rating because of Kyoto arc. The brilliant story of Kyoto arc, its memorable and intriguing characters along with superb background music, make it a true masterpiece. I can watch that it again and again and still get chills down my spine.
My favourite characters
Sunako Nakahara and Kyon are two of my most favourite characters. I like Kyon’s perpetually exasperated look and his witty and amusing commentaries. His passiveness and detached disposition are also charming.
What I find appealing about Sunako is her mysterious ghostly beauty, kind-hearted nature, exceptional fighting and cooking skills, and incredible eccentricity. Her nosebleeds irritate me though. Nevertheless, to me, she is one of the most unique and unforgettable anime characters ever conceived.
About my ratings
I must admit that I underrated some really good anime like Mononoke Hime, The End of Evangelion, Akira, and Howl’s Moving Castle. On the other hand, I overrated some shoujo anime. I factor in my overall enjoyment when I rate. After all, even critics are affected by their personal preferences.

I haven't really been watching many realllly good new series lately, it seems that most of the series this season are merely over average at best. Some are pretty cool, like Phantom and Higashi no Eden, but meh.

Hey yaaaa... First of all, sorry for the looooong time it took me to respond. My net has been down, and I went abroad etc. etc. Now I'm trying to keep up with cell for a while, lol. :E
Anyways, mmm, yeah Skip Beat was good. But no, I haven't read the manga. :o Should I? I do expect the 2nd season of anime eagerly though. :)
On another note, how've ya been?

Wow, I had Gankutsuo on my plan to watch list, but I never knew it's based on that book! I guess I'll watch it sooner than I thought.
My favorite Dumas books at this moment is Ascanio. It's not such a popular book so I was amazed how good it was. But Dumas has so many brilliant books, so I'm sure I'll have a new favorite soon.
Yeah, they're making a movie adaptation of The Hobbit. IMDB says it's airing in 2012. Can't wait!

I'm ashamed as a stalker, I haven't read The Count of Monte Cristo yet. When I have time and money I can't find it, and when I find it I don't have enough money...keh. Books are kinda expensive in my "lovely" country. But I HAVE to read it this summer!
I heard they're planning to make a prequel to LOTR. What do you think? When I think about it and I know all the characters that I love aren't going to show up I don't even want to see it, but I'm almost sure I'll become addicted to it anyway ahah

Ahh, well, I can understand that. But I don't really have any limits when it comes to idling x)..
That said, I wish I could idle even more as it right now... I've felt very tired for some reason lately, all the time. I have slept properly (hell, I'vent even kept up with any anime all week, having only read a few manga chpts, which obviously means that I've gone to bed early :x) etc., so I'm a bit worried.

Hah, I guess I can understand that point of view. Though I must say that I'm the total opposite. :P I love to lay around doing nothing, lol.
Oh, sorry to hear that you haven't gotten much sleep. :/ If a thing like that happens to me, then I can't usually carry on for a long time and end up sleeping for like 2 days in a row, priorizing it over anything else. Lol. On another topic, my weekend was okay. I drank on both, friday and saturday. But it was worth it, I guess. o.o Sunday was horrible though. >.> Just watched some anime for a change, whilst trying to recover fully from the drinking. And indeed, I haven't watched much anime recently either. In fact, the H&C II episodes that I watched yesterday were the first episodes I've watched, during the whole week.. :p
Eureka is worth it, so if you feel like it and have the time, then do that by all means. :)

I've been fine I guess. ^.^ Not much to tell, things going as usual. Which in itself is not a bad thing I suppose? :) The good thing, though, is that spring is approaching! It's finally getting just a bit warmer. Yayy.
How about yourself? Supposedly very busy. :f Though busy does not always equal to stressful, if you enjoy what you're doing.. Umm yeah.
