I've been watching anime since I could walk. I was raised on giant robots, which was awesome (I didn't mention that I've seen a VERY large number of them in my list, because I forget the titles and major plot points...)
I've seen a lot of older anime (black and white stuff, mostly) and artistic works/shorts that I was unable to pull up in this database, but whatever. This list is for me to look at and feel like less of a real person... Seriously, How many days of my life was spent watching frigging cartoons!? Damn!
BTW, my list is just of subbed anime that I've seen, and that I remember well enough to give a rating.
I don't watch TV, so I don't get to watch your run-of-the-mill Americanized, drool-inspiring, I'm-an-otaku-because-I-watch-[Naruto/ Inu Yasha/Bleach/Pokemon] -and-think-I'm-damn-Japanese... Believe It!
Most of the anime I've seen growing up came from a friend-of-a-friend who would sell hand-subbed anime via VHS straight from Japan to Americans. As My friend was his friend, I got to watch a lot of it for free, which was great. Also, I got to see some shows (Top Wo Narae! Gunbuster, 8Man after) that were almost doomed to never make it mainstream in the US.
Now, I get my amine from fansub groups/ at Otakon.
