I pretty much gave up on anime made after the year 2006 ( except for minami-ke season 1)... so much crap released now a days... there's nothing worth watching. but you know I am JUST FINE with that because I have lots of other stuff to watch...
I swear I WILL NEVER WATCH AN ANIME BASED ON A VN OR LN OR AN EROGE OR A GAME OR LOOKS LIKE AN EROGE (ie ANOTHER). Rather than never it's like NOT because I have seen anime based on VN and LN which mostly ended up with time-wasting.
The only one I may relent on is LN because WElcome to the NHK and haruhi are from light novels. but the others have only given birth to shit anime lol.

"Elfen Lied was another good anime. But it was extremely weird at parts.
I hated how it seems that in every episode you saw someone naked, it just annoying seeing people naked in every episode, but let me tell you they had nice boobs so iit wasn't completely bad.
I also didn't like how Yuka always was jealous and wanted to have sex and make out with her COUSIN Kouta. That's weird. Do they do that a lot in Japan?
Overall, this was a great anime with some good comedy(not as much as Dragonball) and fantastic action sequences with blood flying everywhere, I recommend this for fans of gore and action. The art was also very good and had great sound.
(If you want a better action anime watch Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Dragonball, Yu Yu Hakusho etc.)
Story: 8 Very Good
Art: 10 Outstanding
Sound: 10 Outstanding
Character: 6 Fair - (Only good character was Lucy IMO)
Enjoyment: 9 Great (It doesn't drag on, Thank god so it's enjoyable)
Overall: 8 Very Good(With great action, story art and sound its overall a good anime and I know I'm being generous)"

I actually had to review a list of 2006's anime, I don't usually sort by year. :P However that assertion is equally as blasphemous as claiming Penguindrum is the best anime of '11. For one thing; DEATH.NOTE. Maybe not quite my favorite anime of '06, but still superior in every way possible to MPD. Art, storyline, character development, everything.
Then you have Diebuster, the amazingly awesome and over-the-top sequel to Gunbuster. I only recently watched it but I love the hell out of it, epic mecha action reminiscent of TTGL (which came later).
Fate//Stay night, Demonbane, hell even Boku no Pico is a superior product to MPD. '06 wasn't a halfway bad year for series IMO. I've never seen Haruhi, NHK, Ouran or ZSS so I can't compare those, but they all seem more interesting than the penguin trash.
