You're right. I don't know much work it would take or how hard it would be to implement, but we should have at least one of these functions since it would drastically improve the blog section.
What will happen if a site similar to MAL pops up and happen to do everything better? I guess I would have to switch. In the meantime though, I guess I'll continue to go on grumbling about it.

If MAL blog was really intended for micro-blogging, then we would have just 1 or 2 person filling up the recent entries. If that was the case, we should at least have a search blog function, a tag cloud, or categories so I/we can find other bloggers.
Maybe that's why few people use the blogs? Because once you're off the recent entries list, you're done. Even if you had something meaningful to talk about, it wouldn't matter because depending on your luck, someone might flood the list right after yours and push your entry off the list. So how would we find it? There is no way of knowing unless we happen to look at your profile.
If someone wants to jot down their thoughts, they can run over to Twitter. Twitter is made for that kind of stuff. I already tried my hand at blogging and it wasn't for me. I just want to read blogs from different members of MAL and that is hard to do when 1 or two people dominate the recent entries.

i head out late august, like the 25 or thereabouts. That sucks about the computer, that happened to me back in like April, but I'm definitely making up for lost time now. Wonder what jesse did to wreck your computer.

hey dude. been a while. I finished ghost hound recently. It's pretty good. It's similar to higurashi in the sense that for the first part you don't know what the hell is going on, but people get together in the end to like fight evil and stuff. and there are some creepy parts. But there isnt any like cutesy stuff that you disliked in higurashi so no worries there. It's good and it deals with psychology too so it's pretty interesting even when the plot isn't moving forward a whole lot.
