Anime without slapstick??? NOOOOOOO lol in what world do we live in, is this a real thing? "incerts angry anime facial expression here" Yeah I totally agree with your setiments on CGI, specifically 3d CGI infecting the industry like a virus. The craft is slowly dissapearing and changing and so many old timers are passing away and being replaced by new talent but the problem is the styles and approach to design and this new interest wave of CGI is becoming the norm and it sucks. The art form is slowly but surely going through a metamorphiss stage and not in a good way. I can't imagine what anime will be like in 10 or 20 years from now. Even not accounting the CGI, animation in general has kind of always been on a downward slope. I mean when you compare some of the hand draw and cel animation of the golden age of the peak 80's and 90's to stuff like modern shonen today. All these static action shots where the screen just flips on you before an object actually interacts with said object. It could be two characters ready to throw blows with each other, or a spaceship crashing into tree's, etc. My god do I miss the old ways of animation where you got to see a true motion picture experience, a ture blissfull physics at there peak. THems were the days.

It's an old thread i'm referring to but I disagree with you saying dark skinned characters look bad with different colored hair- there are many examples where it works! it's all about good color theory and making the right choices.
