I might give Braid another shot sometime. I am a calm person but when it comes to 2d platforming I kinda lose my patience pretty fast lol and when I think that back when I was a kid I played mostly platformers on my sega console...

I finished Bastion. It was indeed quite amazing, superb soundtrack, I also loved how they used the narrator, the use of music and the narrator managed to give some memorable and haunting moments. I can't say I liked the ending as much as you did, overall it was a great experience, but I don't know about the end...I did like that I had a choice or maybe it was just an illusion of a choice... since I read that if you choose to go back before the calamity, it is suggested that this disaster will happen again. Anyway, now I am looking forward to their new game, Transistor.

After Bastion, I am in the mood for more indie games, I got To the moon and Shank 2. I mostly got Shank 2 because it's from the creators of Mark of the Ninja and that was an awesome game, and they share a similar style when it comes to the graphics from what I saw.

I tried LA Noire, while many praise the facial expressions I found them someone weird and distracting, I will probably give it another try, who knows.

Atm there are some great offers on amazon when it comes to pc games, but from what I read on reddit, it is only available to customers located in the US (seems one can avoid this requirement)but it also seems some are region locked, now that sucks, I wanted to get some, will probably have to wait for steam summer sales.

It has a lot of similarities to Naruto, but in a good way. It goes through a lot of the generic shonen arcs, but it actually does them well. The two main characters are extremely lovable and have fantastic chemistry both in their fighting styles and their morality/ethics. Honestly, it's just a solid shonen anime that does everything the right way. It's very much worth checking out, once you get past the first couple episodes it is very good.

Another anime I highly recommend watching in Shingeki no Kyojin. I've never been submersed in an anime so quickly.. just youtube the trailer for it if you haven't seen it and I promise if you watch just the first episode you'll see how awesome it is.

Since I noticed you have 2 platformers as your favorite games, did you play them on the consoles? I am familiar with both of those 2 games and I can't imagine playing them on a keyboard, I actually tried Braid but I sucked at it. There are few platformers (excluding Prince of Persia kind of games) that I enjoyed playing. I did however finish 2 of them a month or 2 ago, Limbo and Thomas was alone, both were great, thought maybe I like this types of games now and I tried Braid after those 2...as I said above, I sucked at it... Also, yeah, I could use a gamepad but I don't know...I am just too used to a keyboard and mouse when playing video games :)

Anyway, now I am playing Left 4 Dead 2 and Bastion. Just got them on steam. Also got Chivalry: Medieval Warfare...god, I suck at it, the battle system is so much more complex than I expected, not that that's a bad thing but it's not the kind of game that is fun to play right away.

I feel your feelings. I constantly snub happy endings, but when cliche happy ending is finally replaced with something better, I miss the sappy-gooey-ness :/ What a dilemma.

Shingeki... I feel like it's too early to tell. It's great so far, amazing animation, good story, but The characters are a little incomplete and the plot is moving a bit too fast. not to mention that since the manga is ongoing I get the "fillers are coming' feeling.

The next couple of episodes will seal it for me I guess. Definitely worth a watch though, since you tend to feel differently from me about most anime.

See I told ya =P Challenge Mode gets fun in that regard, and it's a plus when you can max out every single one of your weapons. And that's basically when the replay value really shines. My Blaster Runs Hot shouldn't be too hard, but I got annoyed trying to get it first few times. Not hard, just irritating to say the least lol.

re: Nujabes, best thing is to go on his wiki page to find his album titles, then simply google them with 'rar' to find some links. It's really cool laid back instrumental music.

Thanks for the Five Leaves recommendation.

UNF if only there's a second season. I'd give Masaoka's prosthetic arm for one.

I'm a bit on the fence about the ending, mostly due to my inner shoujo ;P Like Makishima's death was too unspectacular... but then again that's what he was striving towards in the end so it makes sense. But it felt a little rushed... AND WHERE IS SHINYAAAA? And I feel so bad for Akane ;_; And Nobuchika! *bawls* And Kagari and Masaoka! *bawls some more*

Y U NO GIVE ME A SLIGHTLY HAPPY ENDING? Y?!

Apart from that, it was a great series :)

No prob, I for one have always been kinda bad at replying fast, so I am not one to get upset or anything over something like this. But sorry to hear about your laptop, I hope everything will be solved quickly. Though I have to admit that reading that massage was a bit amusing :)

I haven't seen enough Urobuchi anime to have a strong opinion about him, I did however quite like Fate/Zero, I do regret that I have not waited to watch the bluray version of the 2nd season as I did with the 1st season, clearly some scenes were cut short in the 2nd season to fit the time slot on tv. I do plan to watch his new anime, Suisei no Gargantia, and from his older anime I plan to watch Phantom and Madoka Magica.
Back to Psycho Pass, I think maybe you found Makashima's death a waste because he was pretty much the most interesting character of this anime, and a pretty relatable character in some regards. But I've seen people here on mal who wanted an ending where the Sibyl System was destroyed and everyone would be living a happy life immediately afterwards...now that would have been a crappy ending and incredibly stupid and completely unrealistic one too, but oh well, as I've said, I am happy with the ending they choose. Also, was it just me, or did you also get some Cowboy Bebop vibes from this anime?

I had pretty much no experience with online game, did not much care about it, I played a bit of Fifa and Counter strike with some friends during one of my high school years and that's kinda it, I always cared only about single player campaigns. But now, after Guild Wars, I remembered I had a steam account that I never used and tried some of the free to play MMOs that they have to offer, Team Fortress 2 is quite a fun game to play, Tribes Ascend brings some interesting gameplay mechanics and it's quite a challenging FPS as you must constantly be in motion or you will die pretty fast. Also, I tried Warframe, a 3rd person 4 person co op game that was released recently, it looks great and has some interesting moves that your character can use, but the missions are pretty boring after only and hour or so, incredibly repetitive.

Yeah it's pretty busy. I'm glad I didn't get a job when I started the program. I would really have lost my mind if I did lol.

Aw I was hoping to find something that wasn't torrent. For some reason, my laptop hates torrent, so it never works right. But ah, I'll find one someday.

Keep at it, you'll get it. Just skip collectibles and stuff and you should finish it faster since you know what happens. Lol I did the same thing though. I haven't gotten the chance to play LA Noire yet. I've just barely beaten Borderlands 2 and about to finish Far Cry 3. Just having too much fun doing everything on the island, killin' tigers n' shit. You know... =P

Beatnik | 04-30-13, 11:44 AM
Good to hear dude, it's always nice to revisit something old and see it from a new perspective. Getting older changes the way you view many things. I can't wait to rewatch Ghost in the Shell TV series, that'll be fun!

btw, don't speak to me about Skyrim!!!!arghhh!!!! I had all the patches, but the game is just broke. On PS3 anyway.

Sorry for the late reply, Nursing school is a bitch :/ 16 weeks of endless exams and papers sure take a lot out of you. I'm kinda worried I'm gonna have a burnout when we do our clinicals next semester :o

Anyways, where can I get a good stream/dl for Akage no Anne? I feel like I've seen it when I was 5 back in the Philippines, but I'm not so sure. But yeah, Uchuu Kyoudai :P

And for the Crack in Time weapon, this was the one with the sixaxis controls. Somehow, I wasn't really into this weapon when I first tried it out.

ParaParaJMo | 04-27-13, 2:47 PM
i should know that second anime myself. i remember seeing it on the sci-fi channel in the mid-90s

MaedhrostheTall | 04-26-13, 3:41 PM
Sweet man.

Keep pluggin' away.

ParaParaJMo | 04-25-13, 12:06 PM
SOrry for the late reply, I have been busy. I don't actively watch anime that much anymore so my memory is really rusty. But yeah, the first one is certainly Hokuto no Ken. The second one I know I have watched a very long time ago like 15 years ago but can't remember it.
