Hey, so yes, I've never been a fan of slow developing romances. Kimi ni todoke, etc. blah, who needs 'em I say. I realize that shoujo is targeted towards a younger audience so there's probably a number of people who enjoy that type of pace, so I try to read reviews and stay clear of that variety. I find that reading josei or following certain types of publishers will give me clear idea of what kind of story I'm in for. For instance, Cookie magazine is a technically a shoujo magazine, but their published works tend to be more mature and are usually of the slice of life variety (one of my favorite subject matters). They publish NANA, Six Half (one of my new favorites), etc.

And sex isn't an issue for that magazine either, and generally it's not just smut for smut's sake either. Cheese usually has pretty decent smut too. Some of it is just smut for smut sakes and some of it is fun shoujo with a little bit of spice. I've sort of abandoned a lot of the shoujo that I used to read, but of the few I do follow, I still enjoy Himitsu no Ai-chan (cute and with some steamy parts too), Six Half, NANA (whenever the heck that comes back).

- Liar x Liar - (sister x [step]brother)
- Hirunaka no Ryuusei (teacher x student romance) - it's pretty popular though I've not followed it for a while

It all depends on what type of subject matter you like too. There's some popular stuff like Hapi Mari, Midnight Secretary - that's all pretty smutty. I prefer the forbidden romance type of stuff, like the teacher x student, step-siblings etc, lol. I think I started reading Kyou koi wo hajimemasu a while back too, thanks for the recommendation ^_^ I just haven't been keeping up with it as I should. I lose interest pretty quickly, unfortunately. But I'll probably go back to it one of these days and try to finish it.

I apologize for the long reply, I never know how to censor myself. You get me talking about manga I like and it could go on for pages XD Are you on mangaupdates?

Hi! I just read your comment on my profile and just wanted to let you know that I didn't purposefully ignore your comment :D I rarely log onto MAL since I'm more of a manga nut and I'm usually on MU. I'll make sure to properly reply soon as I'm heading to bed. Thanks again for your comment ^_^
