GOOD DAY FALC MEMBERS! This may be too late already but let us still greet you a BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR, at least. We’re having our very first newsletter to start the New Year. Hoooray~ We tried our best to shorten this as much as possible. And now, first things first:
FILIPINO ANIME LOVERS CLUB (FALC)
FALC, as the name says, is a MAL club for Filipino anime lovers – pure or half – and for everyone who’s interested to know more about the Filipino culture. Visit once in a while and leave a comment here. Who knows, maybe you’ll be able to meet someone in your area who’s pretty much the same as you – one who loves anime. We would really be glad to see the club alive with your comments. Don’t forget to be friendly, ok? Also, in here, you could find different threads that may catch some of your attention.

I've been following your rankings blog and honestly I find them quite helpful. However I feel you should keep all previous rankings archived under a spoiler tag, that way trends in rankings over time become more apparent.

I just noticed that it you create a new blog page for each new weekly ranking. I think this is rather inefficient, as users would have to sift through pages and pages of blog to find trends for a certain series. As I said before, perhaps you should keep the rankings for a particular magazine all in one page so that it's easier to identify trends.

Damn that was quite an informative response. So in other words, the ranking we see in the Table of Contents is it's ranking approximately two months ago, and if the current chapters suck along with a bottom ranking, that means that the series has been on the bottom for the last two months. T_T STARS T_T
Wow such different publishing philosophies between WSS and WSJ. WSS' philosophy seems more "author oriented" allowing artists to bring for their best work whereas WSJ is more focused on cutthroat profits and consumerism.
WSM is the magazine that published Negima, right? I don't recall many of their published titles besides Negima. (lol)
I'm guessing that WSJ is the odd one for having such a cutthroat publishing policy and that the vast majority of other magazines have a philosophy similar to that of WSS?
And I'll be sure to check out your blog.

Out of curiosity, where do you find all this information about the WSJ rankings? Does this same source carry the rankings of other Manga magazines as well, like Jump Square or Weekly Shounen Sunday?

Yeah I'm a science guy, specifically Astronomy-Physics. If you take a look at my anime list, you will see that I rated shows like Steins;Gate and Sora no Manimani very highly.
I suspected there was some kind of contract involve. Such a shame that works that had great potential like Double Arts or even more long-standing works like Mx0 will never be resurrected OTL.
I agree with you concerning STARS' weakness. The characterization right now is too bland. The author didn't use all opportunities to build upon his characters and make them seem like real people that you can empathize. Right now, I'm only reading it for its' realistic science-fiction aspect. I really hope he can pick up the pace; it really seems like he had a lot of ideas in mind concerning space travel and space exploration aspect. Hopefully someone can help him make his characters likable.
