After watching for a second time, I am now DEAD sure that this series is by far one of the most deeply moving, fascinating and touching anime series that won't be easily surpassed by any of the aired or upcoming anime series with the same genre... And i must admit that there were lots of astounding moments that I definitely will remember in awe forever, be it a saddening, sorrowful or, a joyful, entertaining moment...
Well, most of you are at least familiar with the story after reading the summary above, but there are some points i need to make clear.The plot might not catch most of the average viewers attention as a rare one, but a mediocre TV drama which contains meaningless and temporary love stories, but I assure you, NANA is much more than that! Additionally, this series succeeds in making the audience believe that there really is a world or a place where NANAs and their friends are sharing a life and this thought involves you in the story where you will laugh or cry with them thoughout 47 episodes. NANA's story has lots of twists, suprising moments and character developments especially Hachi(Komatsu Nana)'s growing up throughout the series or Osaki Nana's struggles in her way of making a live off of music. Then the things they need to sacrifice to make their dreams come true... Story-wise, Nana does not have a thought-provoking way of telling things, and prefers to tell the viewers in an easy and straight way which, to me, is the best choice... 10/10..
Art is a really unique one by Ai Yazawa as most of you know which is in a harmony with nature of NANA, getting used to it might be hard for most of you, but once you do, you will likely love it. Rarely does it seem plain or a little inelaborate but most of the time it very well reflects what it is supposed to. Also, chibi forms of the characters are really suited for the funny moments and they are definitely cute... It is absolutely great considering the time it was produced as well ^^. So with some little flaws, it's almost perfect.. 9/10
There really is nothing to say about the the music in NANA which is way better than most of the albums out there in the markets. NANA is basically a music-related anime, thus it is normal that it has astounding sound and songs performed by great singers who are also well-known in Japan and in the world. Moreover, all of a sudden, i found myself a Trapnest(Houjou Ren's second band in the anime) fan which even doesn't belong to the genre of music i mostly listen to xD Anyway, seiyuu and music wise, NANA is top-notch. 10/10...
Characters are what make the audience get closer to the anime and its world. NANA provides a large range of characters and makes you feel attached to at least one of them instantly. Especially the main characters thoughts and the way they react to the things happening around them are very well portrayed, most of them have development as the story progresses but what's important is that all of these are given in a consistent manner, characters do change, but that's only natural after confronting with certain situations throughout the story. All of the characters are really unique and presented very nicely, also have major developments and play significant roles in the progression of the story, hence it's again a 10/10...
Enjoyment differs from one person to another as it is a subjective matter. In my opinion, if you watch a TV series 47-episode-long for a second time, and still hurry to watch the next episode after watching 20 episodes consecutively and as a result finish it in less than two days, then this show is definitely something else... My own decision is 100 out of 100...
All in all, NANA is one of the best series I have ever watched and absolutely the best in its genre, I am planning to watch it again for a third time right after the news of it getting a second season^^ It is a must-see anime, definitely recommended! read more

Story
As the National Tournament continues, Seigaku tries to climb to the top by beating relatively stronger opponents and in the semifinals they face one of the most intimidating tennis clubs--in order not to spoil anything, thats all for the plot ^^--.
Art
Splendid! Yep, it is almost flawless and some visual effects are way better than some so-called supernatural, action anime out there...
Sound
Seiyuus are just great but there is not a major change or improvement in the music or the sound from the original tv series, thus we can say that it is not best but again one of the better ones...
Character
Delicious! It will serve at least one character you will like. For instance, in Seigaku, we have extremely coooool guy called Tezuka(i saw him smile just once O.o), genious, cute but dangerous one called Fuji, collected and helpful Oishi, acrobatic as well as faithful Kikimaru, burniiiiing Takashi, snake-ish and sometimes scary Kaidoh, energetic Momoshiro, data guy Inui and, quite cocky and talented shounen Ryoma... These are just from Seigaku, there are many new, well-drawn characters in this OVA as well...
Enjoyment
This IS PoT, even in this short 6 episodes, it gives nothing less than what you expect regarding enjoyment. Since i have never seen somebody who started watching PoT and had remorse afterwards, should you watch PoT, it will certainly keep you quite a loooong time and you will gladly accept this fact^^... However, sadly when it finishes, in the end you will realize that you want more of it... Anyways, I throughly enjoyed this show, so it's a 10 out of 10.
Overall
Just watch PoT, you will see what i mean!

I just finished the whole series (not totally though, there are still nationals awating ^^), so i decided to write my first review for one of the most outstanding tv series I have ever watched...
------->Story<-------
First of all, id like to correct a general mistake about the plot this anime has, ok i accept the fact that most of the the parts of the anime focus on ,the protagonist, Ryoma Echizen, nonetheless; it is not just a one-man show. I will mention about the characters lengthily in its section anyway, so for the plot i can say that it doesn't have a complex or complicated stroyline, starting with a shounen's dream of beating his once-a-world's best dad in tennis but then, it turns out to be the goal of Seigaku tennis club's being the best in Japan. This can be said as the main plot, and for the side dishes, every single player has some goals they want to fulfill... Additionally, some episodes(not much though) are composed of the chibi forms of the players and their lives as a family or something similar to that, and i warn you, they are extremely cute and way too funny ^^ Plot; absolutely not bad but not good enough either, so; the result: 7/10...
------->Art & Visuals<-------
If we take the timeline of the broadcast of the series into consideration, it has pretty damn good visuals, and towards the end, it gets better and better. However, sometimes it might tire your eyes and even hurt^^. Character drawings are one of the best aspects of the series as well. Every character's movements and the way their limbs move is quite realistic. It becomes clear when two players start to play a tennis match; it gives you the feeling that the players consist of flesh and bone like in reality, hence, this series never fails to meet the expectations regarding arts and visual effects. I believe that they also made a very good job in character designs, it is pretty important to me, because a number of anime fails to create characters which can overlap with their traits... The result: 9/10
------->Sound & Seiyuu<-------
One of the weakest parts of PoT is the music it has. Most of the sound you hear when a tennis match is being held is very realistic, so there is no problem in it... But I can say that, excluding one or two Opening songs, PoT lacks good music, same goes for the music it has in an episode... On the other hand, Seiyuus are just great, for Ryoma, Kikimaru or any other player, well, it doesn't have to be a player though, all of the characters are done amazingly by the seiyuus, so we can say that the producers made some very good choices... The result: 8/10...
------->Characters<-------
It consists of many unique characters that you will encounter throughout the series, and i can easily claim that you will most likely be addicted to them, fond of them, and obsessed with them =] PoT has a variety of players, and serves at least one character you will feel close to. There is not much to say, since it is the best in the diversity and uniqueness of characters among the ones I have seen so far... The result: 10/10
------->Enjoyment<-------
Ahh... Here is another gorgeous point PoT has. I can easily say that, there are a wad of series which can entertain you, have you spend enjoyable times, but PoT offers some unforgettable moments which will definitely crack you up. I don't even mention about the "chibi" episodes out there, the show itself is a great fun even if you don't like to watch tennis, don't just give up on this series just because it's about a kind of sports you dislike,,, keep watching, i believe you will also have a great time! In conclusion, be ready for the utterly hilarious show, that being said, the result is just way too obvious.. 10/10
------->Overall<-------
I strongly suggest you watch this series even if you dont like tennis, or anime whose genres are sports. As it happened with me, you will also want to have more of it even though it is already 178 episodes. In a nutshell, in its genre, POT IS SECOND TO NONE ^^
The ultimate result: 9/10 ^^ read more
