Dude, Just FYI, the anime was a terrible ending. It was 180 degrees from the manga. First of all Raki, has showed himself to be nothing but brave in the manga. Even standing up to the no.5 to give Clare a fighting chance.
In the Manga, Raki stays with Isley and they all head south, there is no final show down between clare and Persela, and Raki spends 7 years (all in a time skip) training with Isley.
So if anything Raki has always had balls, and now he has some skills to back them up. (also the anime totally made it impossible to follow the manga story)
