This review is coming from someone who enjoyed Gundam Wing back in the day but I've never really watched any other mecha so I was sitting on the fence before watching this. That was before though. And now I'm obsessed, and will probably go on and watch more Gundam series.
Story: The story was simple and easy to follow yet held twists and turns. Very similar to Gundam Wing, for which it could be called a modernised version, complete with current real world problems such as the oil shortage, global struggles while maintaining a sci-fi feel, creating a good balance between fact and fiction.
The science is realistic, while not actually possible, it is not farfetched hugely. More complicated problems are brought in throughout the anime keeping things fresh.
This aspect would of earned a 10 were it not for the ending. While I wont spoil anything, I felt it was rushed and did not feel the same as the rest of the show. Maybe another episode could of worked, padding out the last battle abit more.
Art: For me, the art was perfect. Character looked unique, cities looked futuristic while keeping a controlled approach to the technology, and the gundams. They were detailed incredibly well, I could never falt it, throughout the 25 episodes the colours shine vividly when needed, and dull where necessary.
Sound: While great, most brought nothing new to the table. Fitting for the scene but maybe indifferent from any similar scene from any other anime. What brings the score way up is the openings and endings. All four were catchy and fitting the anime as a whole well. Especially the second opening, which captured the epic fell of the anime.
Character: Most were well done, with all the protaganists gaining their own identity early on. Each gundam pilot seemed plausible and not cliche, besides the main character, Setsuna, a carbon copy of the "silent but cool" type. Still, he remains my favourite character, probably because he garners the most of the anime.
My main annoyance was the many characters from the different factions. Some stood out as being a decent, believable character, but a few almost copied each other. Many characters were based around Honor, which started well, when every other character wants some sort of revenge its loses its impact.
But overall a well rounded and plausible cast of characters with development used well.
Enjoyment: This series was a blast from start to finish, I would rush through homework to sqeeze just one more episode into my saturated day. After rushing through 25 episodes in 6 days, most were school days might I add, it shows my enjoyment.
Overall: Deserving of its 10 due to the shine over its tiny flaws, with the majestic gundams fluid movement displaying just how awesome this anime is. With a realistic portrayal of a possible future, and awesome mecha action, this show rises above the many other anime I've watched. read more

If your like me, you'll watch this for the nostalgia that is Digimon. Lets start with the fact that this movie is comprised of the first three Digimon movies in Japan albeit heavily edited. After watching both the Sub and Dub I can safely say i prefer the Dub. Why? Heres why:
Story: Just incase you didn't know, heres a very brief overview of the TV series. 7, later 8, children are transported to the Digital world, where they meet their Digimon, which are monsters that fight and change form. You get the picture. Well this is the movie of that. It starts with a preque, then a sequel to the first series and finally a part about the second series.
Art: The art has aged a fair bit since its launch in the ninety's. While it was animated differently from the main series, it was a matter of preference over this and the original series. I personally prefered the shine of the series as opposed to the dark and dull movie. Thats not to say it has its moments but on the whole, average for its time, even worse now.
Sound: It's not memorable in the slightist. It wasn't terrible yet it definitly didn't stand out. The dub features some of the old tunes used in the dub of the anime, which is great if you remember them. Cheesy if you dont. The Sub voices were good, the average as far as monster related anime is concerned. The dub voices are so nostalgic, while some would laugh at them for their total blandness, hearing Joshua Seth's voice is like living the "good old days".
Character: They are shallow, stereotypical, but chances are you wont be watching this for deep thinking and unpredictable personalitys. Still, they work as far as Digimon is concerned. And it is aimed at younger audiences so who cares.
Enjoyment: I loved it as it was relieving a part of my childhood, from the familar voices and insert songs used to the "digivolve" sequences. It all stays true to what Digimon is all about. Being cool in a nostalgic sort of way.
Of course, if you dont remember or never watched Digimon, you won't enjoy this. Though I doubt anyone would be reading this if this was the case. read more
