I really don't consider myself as a hardcore otaku, for me I'm just a simple anime fan, nothing more. My first anime are probably Mojacko (Didn't include in my list since I missed some episodes in the middle and I was still in primary school so I don't remember it much), Yu Yu Hakusho (well known as Ghost Fighter in our country), and Dragon Ball Z. During those days I still refer anime as usual cartoons and even thought Japanese songs (OP/ED) as Chinese songs. The reason I came to love anime more is really because of the anime channel Animax Asia and also probably because of the influence of the Pokémon franshise to me.
I prefer watching series online that are only a few episodes. Probably one to four-cour series at most. At first I only watch them streamed but now I became a bit more concerned about quality that's why I now download episodes via torrent. I'm not really into super long series but if ever they get to be aired on my favorite TV channel then I'll give them a try. Trying to watch and download them online is such a hassle to keep up with the series. Except of course if I get to see that series before it gets to be a super long series.
I like comedy, action, sci-fi, fantasy, slice of life, mystery genres for an anime. I don't like anime with complicated plot, heavy romance, shoujo (particularly reverse harem) and yaoi stuff. Actually, my liking for an anime really depends on its actual plot so the genres sometimes don't matter for me. I always look for something new and something that will dazzle me as the show concludes.
Just a guide in my list of anime, I use the Tag Section as for what kind of medium I watched/am watching a series (eg. TV Channel, DVD, Video File, etc.). Also in the Tag Section, you might see some of my anime lists have a season and year indicated in them. That means I watched that anime concurrent to its Japanese seasonal broadcast. You may want to click on "More" to some of my listed series because they might have some comments from me there, especially my dropped series (reason why I dropped them). Please be warned that I also update H series in this account. That is all. Let's all be friends here! :)
Oh yes, and my number one all time favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

I also had high expectations for this movie since it was the first film of hunter x hunter in decades of it's serialization. But after seeing Killua's badass intro and him getting jealous over Gon and Retz, i already know where this film is coming from. But then again this film can still be really great if omokage is an interesting villain, if they handled Retz character execution correctly and most of all the intelligent fight scenes. I know i have already said about this in my review but the fight scenes are just bland and boring especially during the climax of the film. The fight between Gon, Killua and Uvogin is much more enjoyable.

For me anime this Spring is awesome.
Just like you, this spring is actually the season where I watch the most anime.
My top priority is of course Oreimo 2. First season awesome second season superb.
A-1 art picture is my second favorite art picture after Kyoto animation. There doing a good job. I like it.
Second priority is Date A Live. I have read LN and I think it interesting. There art is good too.
For Aku No Hana, well it disappointed me. I read the manga and one of my favorite.
When I start watching anime first episode, It shock me. Art picture for this anime is horrible. Just like you, I just move on in the manga.
Hataraku Maou-sama! and Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko is in my list too. It very funny you know.
In action anime, Kakumeiki Valvrave is the one. At first I think this anime just usual mecha action anime, but after watching first episode this anime make me want more.
I like it went Code geass writer wrote this story. The story is awesome.
Beside that, this spring I'm going to watch : Devil Survivor 2 The Animation, Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W, Photokano, Shingeki no Kyojin and Suisei no Gargantia. I got a lot of time to watch anime because right now i'm in University last term holiday.
