I pretty much watch/read whatever I come across for as long as I can stomach it. If forced to pick a favorite genre, I'd say slice of life comedies or romantic comedies. I don't think I'd appreciate romantic comedies (even live action ones) as much as I do if it weren't for anime. Least favorite... yaoi and shotacon, and that's no assumption.
I joined this site to solely keep track of anime I've seen. But by signing up, I began to watch different kinds of anime based on recommendations and reviews. Furthermore, this site expanded my manga reading. To me, this site is essentially an intricate web that caught me and has made me more knowledgeable of anime, manga, and seiyuu. Probably more than I should be. But I guess it's no more different than people who read celebrity gossip or track sports statistics and such.
