This is my ratings scheme:
10 - Anime I absolutely love. (And there can be only one: Evangelion.)
9 - Really good. Anime I'd recommend even to people who don't usually watch anime.
8 - Above average. All around good, fun shows.
7 - Average. Watchable shows, but nothing more. (Sadly, there's tons of anime like this.)
6 - Below average. Anime I didn't particularly like, but still managed to finish.
5 - Worst animes I've finished.
Since I only rate shows that I've finished, this ratings scale is a bit "top heavy". For the same reason it also doesn't directly correspond to MAL's suggestions about how to rate anime (if there even are such suggestions).
