Well firstly hello everyone...this site is totally brilliant...I have so much new and old anime/manga to watch/read that if I don't write it down I totally forget about it until like months later...so this place is a god send ^_^
I'm a university student and thats how a came into contact with the wonderful world of anime through my now best who made me watch Naruto all the way back then in June 2005 and i've been hooked on anime ever since that time where I watched 127 episodes of Naruto in one week just because I could...now waiting a week for the next eps makes me impatient lol!
Even though Naruto was my 1st anime that I watched, it actually isn't my first love so to say...my 1st love was/is Bleach as I found that one by myself and I still adore it sooooo much (plus it doesn't have as many sucky fillers like Naruto did) and I'm also a huge fan of Death Note. What an amazing psychological/thriller. Loved the way the suspense had me hanging of my chair after every episode...crying for more, shame its over but you couldn't add anymore to that anime without spoiling it.
I haven't really found an anime that can compare/compete with this one. But Higurashi no Naku Koro ni/Kai comes close, the series was so cleverly laid out. That it had me wanting to watch more to figure out all the craziness that was happening, then watching the second season gives you answers bit by bit of what actually happened in the 1st Season. It is a mind fuck this anime but brilliant even though it is more brutal and visual when it comes to killing/murder scenes than Death Note.
My favourite genres is horror/psychological thriller and supernatural animes.
On the front of Dubbed Vs Subbed - I am the biggest fan of Subbing because I abousolutly hate American dubbing as the voices that specially Viz chooses for characters are really awful and tend to be very annoying, they also cut out so much... especially brilliant jokes and of course half the bloody violence. I also find it a shame that a lot of the japanese culture is lost in dubbing. I love the japanese word plays/puns which are then explained in a note on the top by the subbers, it gives the anime more character, as it makes me appreciate the japanese culture more! Ok i'll stop ranting now lol!
Because I want to watch to much anime all at once but don't have enough time, otherwise I would never get any sleep at all or do my work lol! I had to give myself a limit of watching 6 animes which 3 are on-going Bleach/ Naruto/ D.Gray-Man and 3 short ones of the season which at the moment are Persona ~Trinity Soul~, Rental Magica and Dragonaut. As I liked the sound of this one too much I had to add a fourth anime lol! which is Shigofumi.
Any recommendations from anyone is warmly welcomed as I am always on the search for new anime/Manga all the time.

Welcome to MAL, you should check out Ergo Proxy. Its a great psychological anime that screws with your head. I had to watch it twice to get everything.
