Hope you will definitely make it to a con soon then. I don't know how I'd feel w/o going to one within a reasonable time. As I browse around through anime forums, it's crazy that some people can go to several cons in a year due to the cost. I myself cannot do that even being single w/ a decent-paying job and aiming to save $ for the future. I don't get it.

Hi, how's it going? It's been awhile since we exchanged. Probably b/c I didn't leave a question or something on my last post to you.
I just got back from Anime Central, the con I told you about, this past weekend. I'll send you pictures that I took, including my cosplays, if you want or you can go to www.fansview.com to took at the ones that they took at the con. Early estimation puts the attendance at around high 15k's, but there were reports that many had to wait 4-8 hours to get their badges. Overall, I had tons of fun after tons of planning for it.

Nope, not finished yet with Monster, currently at epi. 41 of 76. It's quite dark and psychological with lots of flashback episodes, but it's a page-turner for sure. Though I'm kind of going slow with it probably b/c each epi. contains so much to think about after watching a couple of them, I need to stop and process the info.
Funny I can go through One Piece and Bleach so easily, but I couldn't with Monster in spite of the fact I like all 3.
I want to visit Europe someday with UK as the initial point. I haven't travel so far in life outside the US due to work/school and $.
Unlike in the US, where there are big and small cons, I guess the UK mainly have small ones. But there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Some big US cons here tend to have long waiting lines, delayed con events, and dissatisfied vibes. While small ones are more manageable, staff-friendly, and friends hooking up for tons of fun.
For me, I'm going as Kai Suwabara from Yakitate and Gourry Gabrieve from Slayers. I'm totally excited about it after spending 50+ hours & ~$150 on Gourry. It's my first time doing 2 cosplays at a con.
For cosplay, I think it's better to start off with something you can put together relatively easy w/o spending a lot than something complex with many pieces, like gorgeous dresses. Know what you can & can't make, then after a few cosplay, you can build the ones you really want. The other option is to have it made by someone, like a friend, friend's friend, or company (which can get expensive).

Hmm, romcom sounds catchy and easy to use. I might use it in the future instead of romance comedy genre. Just hope it isn't confused with computer (com) ROM's.
You may have noticed I replaced DN over Monster as my top 5 for now. Both are very dark and psychological, but having experienced DN to the end, I have it on the top. After I finish Monster, then I'll reevaluate the two.
Really, a lot of small ones? That must suck not to be able to do more there and meet more like-minded people. What is UK's biggest one in terms of attendance?
There are more than enough in the US to have at least 1 good-sized one (of at least thousands of people) per week through the year. Especially in the summer, there could be more than 1-2 major ones per week depending on the week. Here are two sites to check out just in case you're curious of the cons here: <www.animecons.com> and <www.fansview.com> with cosplay pics and con reports.
I try to go to at least 1-2 cons per year since the cost to attend them is big, considering lodging, transportation (flying in some cases), con badges/registration, food, and of course, anime merchandise.
I just started cosplaying last year and I plan to do two this year at Anime Central con in spite of my age. How about you?
