Yes, NinjaNinja.... Also, I liked the art style... pseudo-realistic, exaggerated features and movement. I have a heterosexual thing for lanky guys with cigarettes too, so that was a big plus.

Uhm... put it this way: they did about as well as they possibly could have done, given the premise. :p
By no means the pinnacle of anime, but, surprisingly, not that bad for an action flick. And for some reason I really like the opening.

Hmm... I think I'll hold out until I either find a hardcover or they re-release it, but thanks for offering. I wish Shirow would go back to that series, instead of farting around with his new anime. I mean, I like them, but he should go back to his strong point: mature manga.

Oooo... does the GitS boxset come with anything else besides the 2 volumes? I mean, if I ever come across it, I'll buy it anyway, but having an artbook or something certainly is an incentive to spend more money. Why is it Shirow has like, 2 different companion/artbooks for Appleseed, but no love for the series that put him on the map? (stateside, anyway)

Really? I would love a hardcover! I do think DH has some sort of plan to re-release all of Shirow's works since they've been putting Appleseed everything else he's done back out in the last year or so. I think GitS will probably be revamped, so I'll just wait. But it was frickin 26+ dollars!! Grr!! (btw, I just found out my book was ruined last night, so I'm still a little steamed)

This is the reason I'm so upset. I re-read my stuff all the time, and especially a book like GitS that you have to read over and over to get all the info. It is a newer binding, but I'll probably wait it out until DH re-releases it, if it ever does...

Yeah, I bumped Ergo Proxy up to a 9... it deserves it. And it's turning out very well. I'll have to see the ending, of course, but it may earn a 10. Which would just bring our compatibility down to what it was, but oh well. :p

Technically, you've seen five of the series on their list, so you could. Grape of Death might qualify as a "badass name," too. And females aren't necessarily excluded:
We'll even take females just be sure that they prove they are real manly females.
But... the testosterone levels are kind of through the roof, and the intellectual levels are pretty much below sea level, so.... :p
