hmm,i see but so far hard to judge since don't have any like that so shall see in the future lol.
i can try(will ignore anything in your plan to watch list already but doesn't mean i don't agree with some). guess i'll take a shounen route first..D.Gray Man,One Piece,Bleach,Naruto,Dragon Ball,Beelzebub and lets test the comedy waters with Gintama since has its fair amount of typical shounen elements as well so may be a good starter comedy

yeah,started airing in japan during the winter season(so Jan. 2011).i like it ^^..has a pretty good blend of action and comedy
lol kinda yeah. ah lolz..not shocking..most seem to be shounen(what Beelzebub is as well) after all lol

about rurouni kenshin, i loved the ova series (trust and betrayal) more than the television series. the ova series is on my favorites. the television series is kinda slow to start since they have to introduce all the characters, but it really picks up going into the oniwaban arc. i unfortunately don't remember which episode that was though. T__T; it's been too long since i saw this series!
you'll know when you hit that arc though! there's this dude named aoshi who all the girls love. he's a classic bishie.
