Explanation of Ratings
- 10 : One of my absolute favorite series, usually because of the plot, the characters, the music, and so on hit on multiple points. It could also be because it's a series that makes you think, or because it's just plain awesome. If I watched it again, I would like it as much as the first time and probably never tire of it.
- 9 : Amazing series that I really enjoyed. Usually has at least one aspect which caught my attention, such as by being hilarious, having an art style I liked, or an enjoyable plot and/or characters.
- 8 : Well-done series. Enjoyable and fun, and rose to appropriate hype levels. Exceeded expectations for a typical series of that genre.
- 7 : Decent series. Overall pretty good and fairly watchable, but didn't really have anything special to elevate it further up. This tends to be the "average" score of series that I enjoyed watching.
- 6 : Alright series. There were some aspects which I liked, and some which I didn't. May have become a bit boring or confusing at times. Alternatively, it was a series that was hyped or recommended, but I didn't really enjoy it as much.
- 5 : Average series. It was okay, I guess, but nothing to be excited over. Watchable but may be boring, repetitive, or cliche at times. I could understand why some would enjoy it, though.
- 4 : Fallen short series. Had promise, but didn't pull through or meet my expectations. I may or may not have enjoyed it, but either way, something was missing that kept it from being better. Alternatively, gag or slapstick short specials/OVAs which I didn't really find that funny or interesting.
- 3 : Disappointing series that doesn't live up to the hype at all, or was a turnaround of good expectations.
- 2 : Awful series that lost my interest (which is very rare) midway through, or had several elements I disliked.
- 1 : Trash series. Don't know why they even made it.
- - : Unrated series because I'm in the process of watching it or haven't seen it in a long time to give a thoughtful score. I usually only rate after I've seen at least half of a completed series, all of a short ongoing series, or enough of a long ongoing series to get a grasp of everything.
Note:
- Ratings of series might change overtime as I've had time to "cool down" after immediately watching the series.
- Scores 5 to 10 are those I would be okay with recommending, scores 1 to 4 not so much.
- I try to have an open mind and give fair ratings for any genre of series. Just because a particular anime is popular or well regarded doesn't necessarily mean it'll get a high score; likewise, a universally hated anime may not necessarily get a low score either.
- I try to watch a series the whole way through, even if I think it's terrible. Series I'm watching will rarely ever get dropped.

But it will improve a lot afterwards.
