Great review on Sailor Moon Crystal!

Hey, I just wanted to say that your Sailor Moon Crystal review was one of the best I've read, you pretty much hit the head on the nail of every problem I've had with it, horrendous art/animation, terrible characterization/storytelling, bland music, and a theme song that even lied. The original anime and manga were far better than the two of these, especially with the original anime making the Inner Senshi more useful, great fighters, and wonderful, lovable characters, only in the infamous SuperS were they pushed to the side with all its filler (only time I consider "filler" episodes there as filler). Even the movies did a good job in my opinion.

Season III of Crystal is actually better than the two, with better art/animation and slightly better characterization and story, but it still does contain flaws the first two seasons had but not as much, but it still pales compared to the original Sailor Moon S. What I think could happen is Season III might get remembered for being good though not amazing, and seasons 1-2 sadly will drift into obscurity and end up forgotten...unfortunately all Crystal ended up showing though was the manga hasn't aged very well and frankly while I like the manga it still makes me want to watch the anime version instead...

Your Sailor Moon review may be one of the most thoroughly written and well thought out reviews I've ever read. I appreciate it.

Let's say in the end the fact that I had to wait two weeks per episode was helpful XD because at some point it became like 'oh... there's crystal this Saturday... oh well.' You're going to have it hard watching the second part all at once...

I actually never liked the character of Sailor Moon idk why, maybe because of a childish way of thinking back then that I hated when the protagonists were so important that the others almost didn't count even if they told me 'yeah but the show IS named after her...' but with crystal it was SO MUCH WORST like literally in the last episode you could hear the other senshi die inside because they didn't do shit through all the show and they were useless in the end.

Well, maybe episode 25 struck me hard because I'm a Pluto fan so it was quite emotional for me XD especially because it was almost all focused on Chibiusa and Pluto and I really liked the art and that Chibiusa transformation.

And yes, you're so right about that. Now I want to re-watch PGSM so that I can see some interaction between the senshis (and badass Princess Sailor Moon).

I usually don't comment on people's profiles if I don't know them, but I just wanted to let you know that every word you said in your Sailor Moon Crystal review is exactly how I feel about it now that I finished it and can finally stop pretending that "it's not thaaaat bad so I'll keep watching till the end...".

I also love the fact that you mentioned PGSM, since many people don't want to watch it only because how 'ridiculous' it looks. For me, this remake was even more ridiculous.

On a side note, I noticed that you didn't finish it (not that it matters because it just gets worse) but I would recommend you to watch the 25th episode, I think it's the only thing that you can save from the show. Very good art, animation and direction.

I wish there was an option to comment on reviews. Just wanted to say "yes, yes and YES!" to your review of Sailor Moon Chrystal. I have just decided to drop it, because I just can't pretend to enjoy it anymore. Seriously, it's SO BAD I can't deal with the animation. But you're absolutely right in your other points as well, had the art been the only lacking quality I might've been able to forgive it. Huge disappointment. Anyway, amazing review!

Haha, the folks on Twitter are actually nice and at least some agree that the quality is meh and the rest simply ignores you :D

I mean, I've been waiting for this to happen too and I still find myself getting all excited when thinking about the next arch and how Uranus and Neptune will look, how I can get my favourite voice actors into the show and OMG the Holy Grail transformation and attack always were my favourites!
But then reality kicks in, I start to picture how Crystal will pull this off and I need to hide under my blanket for a minute to collect myself. I just wish they had a director who cared at least a little bit as much as the fanbase does...

The last time I got excited about Crystal was when they announced Dimandes VA. I found myself tweeting "I'm so excited to hear it!" which is pretty much SMC's problem in a nutshell...

Fantastic SMC review. Not only do I agree with what you said, but you said it extremely well. Your comments on the inner senshi's dialogue resembling a children's play where everyone gets a line is evocative and feels pulled straight out of my brain. I hope you write professionally as your talent is actually surprisingly rare and valuable.

I just read your Sailor Moon Crystal review and I 100% agree with you! Especially when I check the twitter hashtag I have this slight feeling that nobody else seems to care what a pitiful parody of this thing that I loved so much when I was a child Crystal really is... It's good to know that I'm not alone :D
My last bit of hope died when I saw Crystal's "edited" Blu-ray version. -.-

Just stopping by to say great Sailor Moon review. It sums up how I feel about it perfectly.

I guess people always want something new, because they think it's gonna be better, but it doesn't have to be :D I'm gonna start the 2nd season of Sailor Moon any time soon, I'm really excited xD
