As a fan and defender of the Harem category, I was truly disappointed in Green Green, this is the type of show that gives Harem-Bashers ammo in their hate-articles and reviews to shows in the category. Shows with ecchi are all fun and games, but Green Green crosses the line on tolerable ecchi so often to the point where the show has become so tasteless that even healthy young men have to shake their heads. To be short and blunt: If you're desperate for panty shots, lingerie, and huge boobs to the point where you would subject yourself to watch Green Green, then just go
...
to your local video store, I'm sure they have a much better selection there.
*The only positive to this show is that the girls are wonderfully animated.

Short Summary:
R+V stuck to the Harem category's most original formula for sucess: Harem= Shy boy + Gorgeous female lead + Supporting females (Seductress, Lolli, Cold-heart) + Fan service, and frankly, for fans of harem, it works. To be blunt, those looking for a deep story/message will be dissapointed, but even for the usual harem-bashing-crew, this show can be enjoyed simply because the creators kept things simple, it's funny, you know what you'll get in every episode, and you get to enjoy (in my opinion) probably the best looking female leads outside of Ai Yori Aoshi.
Like my other reviews, I'll keep things short and sweet, while
...
maintaining vague enough that no spoilers are spilled.
Art:
This is probably the most polished anime visually I've ever seen in a comedy (I mean comedies don't exactly always have Code Geass/Death Note budgets), the perfect way to describe the show is "clean", the enviroment, and not to mention every female character, are just so clean and pleasing to the eye.
Story:
*Harem-bashers: I know you want to bash Harems for a lack of substance, if so, then wouldn't it be wise to just skip to the next show instead of watching a whole series and writing a review just to vent?*
We don't exactly expect this show to put us to tears like Kimi ga Nozumo Eien or Elfen Lied, you won't find anything shocking or out of the ordinary with the story, but your enjoyment is found through the comedy, so in that regard the thin story can be excused.
Overall:
This is a show for you if you're looking for something where you can relax, laugh, and get your fix of fan-service, however, someone's 8 can be someone else's 5, so for the 100th time, if you don't like shows like this, look elsewhere.

Short Summary:
This show is as jaw-dropping-funny as an anime will get, but in fact a surprisingly heartwarming tale. Main characters taller-than-your-average-girl Risa, and short-for-his-age Otani as a couple? That already spells disaster (disastrously funny that is) right off the bat! Complemented by superb voice acting and consistent story and character developement, Lovely Complex is, in short, a Rom-Com done right!
I'll try to be as vague and as short and sweet on the categories because like me, I'm sure you also absolutely hate spoilers in reviews.
Story:
I found that one of the biggest reasons I liked Love-Com so much was because its consistency to progress
...
in its storyline, every episode is very relevant and vital to the main plot, and keeps you locked in and wanting more. Overall, with its ups and downs, at the end of the show, you'll be truely satisfied with everything that happened and would'nt want it to end any other way.
Voice acting:
Great, the leads were perfectly casted in everyway and never fail to deliver in every episode. One thing I have to nit-pick at is (this pertains to the story too) that the supporting characters were surprisingly weak and barely matter in the grand scheme of things.
Art:
Not your usual huge-eyes small-mouth cuties in this show, but again (I know I'm repeating myself) very appropriate, especially during the hilarious scenes where the characters' fantasies are shown with shimmering eyes and wide open mouthes.
Being a guy, watching a show with labeled in category shoujo is a huge taboo, especially considering that the story is seen through Risa, the female lead's point of view (although Otani is present 90% of the time anyways), but if skipping out on great things is what it takes to be manly, then you've got it all wrong. After all, it's been years since I've seen a show that actually makes me laugh so hard (and so often) that my stomach starts hurting. I recommend anyone, male or female, at almost any age group to watch this show and get a great kick.
Enjoy.
