I've recently started watching anime and reading mangas and I've found I have a collective taste. I started out watching Hayao Miyazaki movies and my favorite of them is spirited away (it's so deliciously weird). I don't think I've sen all of his stuff but I plan on it.
After that a friend got me watching Ghost in a shell. I fell in love with the series and watched the first...addition I guess. I know there is a lot more out there and I think I started watching stand alone but to me it's just not as good.
I've recently started watching some yaoi and sadly I think a lot of it has the same theme but a few stand out such as sekai ichi hatsoui (my first yaoi I watched and I love the art style in the manga) and tight rope. After that is seems like most of it is either about high school kid's love life (I really don't like these because the characters are too young and make me feel uncomfortable) or about a strong top forcing the weaker bottom to confess their love or desire blah blah blah.
The last anime I watched was vampire knight and vampire knight guilty. I really enjoyed this series even if the vampires were kinda sparkly. Maybe this is my guilty pleasure, the one anime I shouldn't confess to liking but the art was wonderful and the storyline was interesting all the way through.
The manga I only just got interested in and sadly it's because of sekai ichi hatoui...I wanted to see what 'hardcore' sex scenes where like. I guess showing the actual act of sex is hardcore in mangas but it didn't disturb me with taboo or gross stuff.
So in general, I like to give everything a try and once I find something I like I tend to obess and watch and read everything about it I can.
