I am currently an art student at a community college in Maryland. Originally I attended the Pennsylvania Acadamy of Fine Arts for my first year and a half, but a mix between monetary and family issues caused me to drop out early. I really do hope I can make it back there eventually, because I learned a great deal such a short time being there. I do have a deviantart page which has almost all of my work from high school and PAFA on it. I haven't updated it since I left that school, but I do intend on doing so eventually.
I have always been a fan of anime since I was young, but only recently have I been so interested in it. I'd say it mostly came from the fact that one of my friends got me to read Katawa Shoujo back in May, and that slowly got me into visual novels. A mix between wanting to read/watch more good stories than what were available to me and another of my friends, messyhairs on this site, suggesting a multitude of anime for me to watch, really got me going. Shortly after that, I started to really get into manga through Claymore, and that's where I stand now.
Aside from painting and anime/manga/VNs, I really enjoy video games, music, and certain tv shows/films. I am also a proud supporter of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and a not so proud supporter of the Jacksonville Jaguars. (I know... I know. The Jaguars suck, but I still love 'em. :S )

These aren't necessarily what I think are the best five of each category, but they are definitely my favorite for now. Aside from the first thing on each list being my favorite, I don't have any specific order for the others.
