I heard that it will start from the very beginning, then pretty much follow the path of the original series up until a certain event occurs. From that point on, everything that happens will be completely different from what occurred in the first series (read the manga if you want to have an idea of what to expect).

Hi, what have you been up to lately? By the way, if you haven't heard of it yet, the second season of Fullmetal Alchemist will be starting this April. Actually, it's more like a total overhaul than a sequel. Needless to say, if you liked the 1st season, this is a must watch.
Other shows that are probably worth checking out would be Shangri-la, Tears to Tiara, and Cross Game.
