About czwtb
* favorite book: Seven Ancient Wonders by Matthew Reilly

* favorite non-anime series: Dexter

* favorite athlete: Anderson Silva

* first manga I completed: Death Note, I was so intrigued by the story, I spent an entire year on re-reading it over an over again + I watched the anime and the live action films but in my opinion the manga is way beter, that's why I started reading more manga series

* I love comedy series and eventhough there aren't many good anime comedies, those that are good are hilarious :D

I would like to go to US but probably more realistic choices is Taiwan.
Yeah, I've done LFS last semester for my final project. If you want to do it be prepared that it will be repetitive at some points, the guide book is unclear sometimes, and google-material for something linux-related is always limited. But it's still a good experience and you will learn a lot of things about linux.

I'm currently in my 2nd year, normally I would study IT for another 2 years, but I'm considering to continue my study to graduate school, since I wanted to have some experience living abroad (and hopefully I can work abroad too).

If you have some trouble with Linux maybe you could try building linux from scratch (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/). Building your own linux distribution is pretty fun and if you has done it you can gloat to your friend that you have created your own OS! And after finishing it you will reaally appreaciate what a great thing modern OS is, haha.

By the way, I have just finished SSY and it's great! At some point I started to stop caring about it's characters and considering dropping it, but the finale episode is really amazing one. It's a really great series and if you are dropping it because of the yaoi you should continue it because after THAT episode you're not going to see any yaoi scenes anymore.

Oh, I think it's called vocational school or something. By the way I'm currently studying networking too, I just got into the parts where I study DHCP and DNS haha. How do you study networking there, do you use real computer network or a virtual one/using Linux UML ?

witheld | 04-17-13, 1:12 AM
Yeah you should definitely read it if you have time. I am currently studying computer science by the way, are you an university student too?

That's still really great internet man! There is probably very few people in my country who have that kinds of connection.

I don't mean that kinds of "relation." You see, most people who rate OMK so high definitely do it not because of the ecchi parts. Those parts are simply used as a device for telling a really really brilliant story about redemption. You should read it if you have time, you'll be surprised about what it have in store.

Whoa, really? Personally I think 2nd ep is actually weaker than the 1st. Sadly they seem to reorder the story though, so probably you will not see any action sequence until ep4. I think you will like next episode more, there will be room for some character development.

30 MBps is crazy! I'm so jealous! How much do you pay for that?

Well, if you are kind of introverted like me, and looks down in people like, "Whoa, everybody is so stupid!" in school, I give OMK serious recommendation. It's surprisingly very touching if you can sympathize with the MC.

Well, what's that thing you put in spoiler tag? I have paranoia with spoiler so I'm not going to open it until I finished SSY, hahaha.

I read Baccano! synopsis and it seems interesting, definitely will watch it.

As for SnK, you should give it chance until episode 5/6, and if you still don't like it, I guess it's just not for you.

I live in big city so getting good connection here is not a much of problem (different matter when you live in obscure areas). But I'm just an undergraduate student living alone so I could only afford internet that goes to ~100/200 KBps. I'm pretty lucky though since I go to university which have great connection (If I'm lucky I can get about 10 MBps) so downloading anime is not a problem. What's more anime and manga is really popular here, so I usually don't even need to download it myself, just get it from my friends. But I guess that speed is still slow when compared to Europe, eh?

And I noticed you dropped Onani Master Kurosawa after 1 chapter, why is that? I guess the concept itself is pretty disgusting, so I kind of understand.

Nah, my internet here in Indonesia is soo slow, would be hard to get good watching experience with my connection. I think I would watch it later, after I finish maratoning Zetsuen no Tempest, Psycho-Pass, and SSY.

I heard good things about Baccano!, but since I'm bad with names I fear it would be too confusing for me. Will I still be able to enjoy it without fully remembering the character names?

By the way, I had a good look on your list and I'm 90% sure you will like SnK (if it turns out as good as the manga). What do you dislike about the first episode anyway?

That was pretty long ago, I kind of forget, I think it was about midway point, when MC's best friend was introduced as the yellow gang leader or something. Does the story starts to pick up from there?

As for why, I also wonder why either, haha. As far as I can remember, it definitely has potential to be very good series, with interesting and colorful cast of character, solid production values, and it also deals with some pretty interesting themes. I remember getting hooked on episode 2 or something, when some of the cast stopped a girl who try to suicide. That was pretty good.

I guess I'm just not interested in the story and the premise of it. It's too slow sometimes, and at times it doesn't seems to go nowhere. And when it starts I going, I pretty much don't care about where it's going. Probably the reason I dropped it is because I got distracted by other things in life, and it's doesn't quite have the power to suck me again.

Your comment got me interested again though, after pondering for a while, it definitely not a bad series. I kind of wanted to finish it, I'm pretty interested in how some of the characters turn out. But for some reason it's not on my computer anymore. It's just not meant to be, eh? hahaha :)

witheld | 04-09-13, 7:02 AM
Soo.. Well, How could I convince you?

Haha I guess the best way really is just wait and see, it's not like it's 100% guaranteed that the anime will turn out great anyway.

Oh yeah that manga is great, but it's actually a bit similar to SnK, in the way that it also starts slow.
