Hyouka is an anime wherein a high school boy makes an adventure of his lifetime.
At first things where all boring but you'll get to enjoy the whole series afterwards. It is a shoujo anime but it doesn't have a lot of romantic scenes and love stories and I, myself am very tired of watching romantic love animes. Moving on,

STORY (7) - It is just a typical everyday high school life but I have to admit there are scenes in Oreki's school that are much fun to watch than any other schools in any other animes. I can't say that the story is unique because it's like a touch of Clannad and Detective Conan. Clannad is an anime about a guy who is very lazy but a troublemaker. He kind of resemble Oreki. In Detective Conan, there are a lot of crime scenes or a lot of mysteries that will be solve just like in Hyouka. It's just that Detective Conan is more advanced and more bloody than Hyouka. Then again it has a good story and interesting plot.

Art (9) - It has a precise art and creative looks to the character but I just think I've seen this artwork before. Some parts of this anime is realistic some parts were not really catching my attention. But they did a pretty good job on doing the animation.

Sound (5) - I didn't really enjoy the Openings and the Endings of this anime. I can't even remember the songs. It didn't made me excited or I didn't sing-along with the music. On the other hand, the sound effects were impressive.

Character (6) - Interesting Characters but really boring. The only character whom I liked the most was Satoshi. He is by far the funniest character in this series. The other characters were not amusing and funny at all. On the bright side, I admire the intelligence of each character. Especially Oreki, he is very smart.

Enjoyment (7) - It didn't actually gave me that aspiring and interesting moment. I didn't cry on the sad parts of it and some of the jokes were indescribably corny. I can't explain how I finished this series because it took me a while before I watched the last episode. It actually took me 3 weeks to finish it but all the other animes that I watched only took me 3 days, some even 1 and a half and those series have 26 episodes while this one has 22. From the start until the 15th episode, everything got boring and unusual to watch. Then I said that at least I must know the ending.So the ending wasn't half bad. Episode 16 until 22 were a bit cliche but it was enjoying.

Overall (7) The truth is, Hyouka is a good anime that will extremely keep you guessing about what's gonna happen next. Yeah, sure some parts of it were boring but sooner or later you will realize that it's not a total waste of time.


SPOILER: Actually I just remembered that most of the people who I saw when they commented about Hyouka's Ending said that it was a bit convincing but some didn't like it. In my opinion, I think it was a good ending. At last, an anime that ended without a love between the main characters.


So, do you think I would recommend this anime to all of you? Well I'm not quite sure. To be honest, I don't even know if this was an awesome series or not but I'm quite sure about this: If you want to watch a detective conan-ish with a touch of characters in Clannad then this is the anime for you. read more

Okay, First of all.... THE MANGA IS SO MUCH AWESOME THAN THE ANIME. (Just so you know).

Why? Well there are numbers of reasons why the manga is so much better than the anime. There's the ending, the scenes which got cut, scenes in the anime that never really existed in the manga, and most of all the art of the manga is more attractive than the anime.

STORY (9). The story is something different. I have never seen such unique animes before because some animes have cliche stories! Like for example, when girl meets boy then they fall in love with each other and the guy will confess then after an episode boom, they have a relationship blah blah blah. It's different on this one. I really felt happy because on some point, I read a manga that I can relate to. The height complex, the love and hate relationship and so much more. It's kind of bizarre but somehow it reflected my life a bit. I am also a tall girl longing for a tall guy who would love me someday but after reading this everything changed. I enjoyed the story because it wasn't really that erotic, there were no corny scenes, it's just a shoujo manga with a fun-filled story that will shock you. The ending was very satisfying because they showed how strong Otani and Koizumi's love because no matter what happens, they will continue to make the relationship strong and healthy. What really bothered me was the cliche parts of the story. I've read tons of shoujou manga and every manga has the following cliche japanese high school scenes in manga and anime:

1.) School Field Trip
2.) Cultural Festivals
3.) School Festival Things (which every classroom must do something like a play, or a haunted house booth and so on)

Yep, every frickin' time, these scenes show up in every frickin' shoujo manga but then again, they have different stories and it's just the setting and I didn't really mind because there are some parts of the manga that has a unique plot and setting.

ART (8) The art didn't actually blew me away but it's better than the anime. But the characters have actually different looks unlike other mangas who actually have characters who look exactly the same and it's really confusing especially when they have the same hair color because in the manga there are only 2 colors which are black and white. But in this manga there are a lot of familiar faces but with different looks so it's not really confusing. Like for example there are characters that have chinky eyes and some have different hairstyles that doesn't really resemble other character's hairstyle so all in all the art is very good.

CHARACTER (9) I wasn't fascinated with the other characters. Mostly, I'm only concentrating on Otani's and Risa's side of the story because obviously they are the main characters. I think there are characters that I didn't really like that much like Nobu-chan and Nakao. They somehow freak the hell out of me when they do love scenes together. It's not promising to see and it's too much lovey-dovey almost like 2 couples you see in a restaurant and poke each other then kiss then after a week they broke up. But Otani and Risa's romance is more like a bestfriend love theme. They are not a typical couple who show their love to other people by doing disgusting things that would just make them PUKE.

Enjoyment (10) I really hope the score of "10" defines AWESOME because I really enjoyed this manga. It helped me realize that if you want something grab it! Don't give up when you are just starting to do it. It's like Risa's love for Otani. It took time but it was worth it. But I must say, I enjoyed the ending because it proves how they are faithful to each other after all those years. But I can't help but say this... WHY AREN'T THERE MORE CHAPTERS!

Overall (9) Everything is great about this manga. Nothing more nothing less, It's just a piece of entertainment that will give you smiles and it will effortlesly make you keep coming back for more. Unfortunately, it ended so soon so it's not that okay for me. But the ending was good don't get me wrong, It's just that there are a lot of shoujou mangas that gives this feeling of we want more, please make their adventures more longer like other shounen manga. For me, It's just unfair why do shounen mangas never end? While shoujou manga ends quickly as possible. Well, that's about it. I just told you everything that I need to write on this review so what do you say?

Okay, Being the first one making a review for this manga, I really feel honored.
But then I also feel quite nervous because I must advertise this manga for other people to read it.

For starters, I read Bokura no Ibasho because after reading the manga of lovely complex, I've become interested about the author, Nakahara Aya. Then, I watched the live action film of lovely complex and started to like Otani Atsushi's actor which is Koike Teppei. He is very jolly and good-looking which made me more interested. Then I was surprised when I found out that Nakahara Aya made a manga about Teppei's life so, after finishing this manga with 58 pges, I started to realize one thing, If
you want to pursue your dream, WORK HARD FOR IT. Anyways, here are my opinions:

Story. I think the story is great because it really is a true to life story about Koike Teppei. It's original, and it's very inspiring. It will give you a glimpse of hard-working actors/singers and how they managed to be what they are now.

Art. Nakahara Aya's art really suits the whole thing. It's very good but it wasn't that impressive but Teppei's face really resembles Otani's face in the manga and the fact that he's really good looking, Nakahara-sensei's drawing really captured the maturity, complexity, and personality of Teppei.

Character. Also very good although, the author only showed some of the personalities of Teppei and others. I really wanted to see more but sadly, there is only one chapter in this manga. But what captured my heart was when Teppei really tried so hard to achieve his goal.

Enjoyment. It's good. Not too boring. It's just that, I wish it would've been longer.

Overall. It's also good but then again, WE NEED MORE CHAPTERS. But, I really didn't waste my time. The story captured my heart and it motivated me as well.

So guys, come and read Nakahara Aya's masterpiece "Bokura no Ibasho". An inspirational and comedic yet dramatic manga I've ever read. read more

AAAHHH!!! What a refreshing series! It's like after reading it you feel like you've drank from some magical water that really tastes good. (WHAT DID I JUST SAID?) Anyway, before I say something really stupid I must make a review first.

STORY (9) - Why? Yes, it's unique, it's something like you would ever wish for. It's about romance and everything like any other shoujo manga BUT! It's not just your average lovey-dovey manga, it has an interesting plot and a story that may astound you. Comedy, romance, and magic, everything is placed in one good, refreshing manga. But I can't lie.. it really is a bit rushed. I really hoped for a good ending which I had but then I really want to know about what happened to the other characters.. anyway, just read it and you'll understand what i mean.

ART (8)- In the first few chapters the drawings are a bit cute, detailed and it had a few pencil strokes that really give off a true manga feeling then after a few volumes.. all that art changed. I think because the author had a problem with her hand or something but anyhow I didn't really mind, in the end I concentrated on the story, the comedic acts of the characters and lastly the emotional parts in the manga.

CHARACTER (10) - Yes, A PERFECT 10! Each of the characters had a sort of funny side as well as their dramatic side. It goes to show that not all characters are perfect, they have problems that will affect their life, their emotions and how they could deal with other people just like us.

ENJOYMENT (10) - It really did gave me a piece of entertainment. Something that made me addicted. The laughs, sorrows, learning I shall never forget each of them after reading this manga. It tells you that even if you fall you could still learn how to get back up and when you meet other people they will be the ones who will help you.You'll never know if you never try.

OVERALL (9)- Yes not every shoujo manga is perfect. SO what if this is an old manga.. I never cared. I only care that this manga really changed who I am and what I can become. It showed me that even if you are a typical simple girl you change the world if you just believe and if you just don't hesitate in showing what you feel. Sometimes it's okay to let it all out because that way... THEY WILL KNOW HOW YOU FEEL.
But then this manga.. really needs more chapters... WHY?! WHY IS IT SO......

I have to admit.. I watched the anime before i read the manga.

After watching the anime.. I felt sad.. The story was amazing! Really Uh-mazing!! The type of anime which will receive a big shock.. and finally an awe..
That's because of the very disappointing ending. FALCON PUNCH? Who does that.. you'll understand it someday once you read the manga and watch the anime.

The story was quite outstanding because I've never seen or read anything like that before. I was feeling good about this manga because its really enjoyable in many ways! It centers a group of weapons and meisters who have come to save the world from evil souls. I really liked how the writer specified something that adults can't understand. I like the fact that there are still many funny moments about this manga. It wasn't all serious and emotional..It doesn't have any dull moments or even unappreciated scenes. It could really tickle your bone once you fell in love with the characters.


At first the sketches, the drawings or the overall art of this manga wasn't pleasing to the eyes. It needed a lot of improvement. Then after 6 or 8 volumes.. everything turned out to be cool and interesting. The author made a good drawing of Soul and the other. They all have a lot improvements with their faces, costumes and body figures. At first, I didn't want to read it because I didn't like how the author drew the whole thing.. Then after a few adjustments.. I finally got in love with Soul, Kid, Black Star and other handsome characters in the manga. To be honest, I think the setting of the manga really did a smoking job well done. I enjoyed reading it and I even tried copying the drawing but I can't.. It's too beautiful.. Only the author can do it.


The characters have a unique sense of personality and emotions. The characters were a lot better than any shounen manga/anime I have read. They have this kind of good vibe to the person who is watching. Whether you like that character because its gothic or handsome or it really made you realize that Soul eater is a good manga and anime.


I did enjoy reading it although it wasn't that finished. I couldn't stop thinking about the other chapters because they have good sense of feel, vibe and characters. I liked the fact that they are trying their best to translate the manga but they should've made a lot of adjustments. They should hire more translators for us fanse not to wait.


Overall, it's good, the story needs a little twist to make us more interested. They should put a lot of interesting new things to it. They shouldn't put a lot of characters that doesn't really shine out that much. So all in all it's very good because they should just adjust the music, the words and jokes.

That is all I hope you read the manga because it is way much better than the anime. read more

I'm not really a type of girl who likes shoujou manga but then when i read this manga..

It kind of changed my way of life.

The story of this manga is unique and it kind of reminds of the movie "A walk to remember" well sort of.. especially the line of Yoh which he said this to Haruna: "I want you to never fall in love with me." Kind of like what Jamie said in the movie.. Anyway, moving on.. The story centers a simple plot which a girl is not that attractive and she wants to have a boyfriend since she'd always have been concentrating on sports when she was in elementary. Then she met a boy.. A boy which she wanted him to be her coach in making her attractive. I enjoyed the story but it still lacks something.

The art was good because there are some parts wherein I get a little conscious about Yoh's body and face.. sometimes the body is too tall but it isn't really that half bad. Still, I think Yoh is sexy.. When it comes to the clothes of each manga character.. it's really fascinating and cute. Especially with the clothes of Yoh's sister.


The characters were simply outstanding!! Everyone has different personalities that are very unique! It must be pretty hard for the writer to think of the attitudes and the personalities of each character in the manga. Each of them brings laughs and funny moments whenever I see them. Especially, Haruna. Her aspects and her innocence somehow really makes me laugh! There are many giggle moments whenever there are love scenes in the manga.


I enjoyed it A LOT. But I still give it a 9 because it really lacks a little something.. They should've made it longer but unfortunately, they finished the manga with 14 volumes. I still long for the adventures of Haruna and Yoh but sadly, there are no chapters left.

Overall everything was flawless. Great story, great characters, good art and eventually, I fell in love with this manga series. Lately, I've been thinking.. what if i watch the live action? naaaah.. I'm too lazy to do that and i'm too loyal for the manga. I hope you guys got motivated about this review.. Because even me at first I didn't like this manga but when I started to read it.. soon enough I knew... I fell in love with this manga. read more

The most crazy reason why I've watched this series is because the seiyuu of Yuuta Asaba is Uchiyama Kouki which I really love that seiyuu.

But sometimes when you watch an anime you would find new things that'll surely make you feel happy about it.

The funny thing about this Anime Series is that it has a lot of characters that each have different stories and personalities.

For me the story is 10. Because it's not that boring unlike all the High School Shoujo, shounen and Slice of life anime. The thing is they make people watch this anime because of the characters! They make them cute and have various behavior and complex to their lives. Their stories are very much like our lives right now. It kind of reflects each individual who watch this anime. This will make them understand themselves. Each human being have the personality of Kaname, Asaba Twins, Chizuru, Shun and etc.


Art wasn't that bad and wasn't that a "WOW" factor because the art is really common in animes. But because the story is too damn amazing!! well,, I didn't really mind.

Sound wasn't that good it was a little off but for me it reflects the whole series. XD but then it's the story and the character that matters in this anime.

Character... well it's a ten because each character has their own way of showing their emotions. Watching 5 guys fooling around and talking about random stuff makes my day!! They absolutely made me laugh but I was touched as well.

Enjoyment is a ten too because when you watch this anime it gives you random emotions and countless laughs! EVerytime a character makes a fool of himself the other also makes a fool of himself. Which is very interesting.


Overall it is a nice anime and I hope for a good ending! read more

WARNING: This review may be a HUGE HUGE spoiler to you if you haven't watched the movie yet but if you watched it already, might as well return to this review and I'm sure you'll understand my emotions and feelings in this review. SO, ENJOY!!!

The story of this anime movie film is bittersweet but outstanding. It's unique and very cute. It is about a girl named Hotaru who is narrating her story about Gin, a mysterious guy who lives in the forest. It was a sweet and a happy moment for them. It made me realize that with such a small age gap, two people can be in love with each other. It is a summer romance between a human and a youkai which made it even better. But then it wasn't fair for Hotaru since, she can't let Gin disappear just because he cannot be touched. It started off as friends then it became romance. It was about Love and friendship but the ending was way too sad.


The Art was great but it wasn't that outstanding.. maybe because it's only a short movie. It is colorful and cute. Especially the eyes of Gin, it really made me focused on it.. it was too darn beautiful!


The Music/Sound is also great.. I liked the fact that they only used piano all throughout the movie. What made it even better is that the ending song in the credits was sorrowful but it reflects the whole movie.. the sadness of the song makes it beautiful and more melodramatic. It also made me remember the thought of the ending which is so sad and it really gave a pinch in my heart. It made me remember the memories of Hotaru and Gin. Everytime i hear that instrumental music of Hotarubi no mori e it really makes me sad.

The Characters were very outstanding! I like the fact that there are only 2 characters to remember!! Gin was actually my favorite in this movie! He is very attractive and I'm proud of him because he is very playful and he has this way of talking to people. For Hotaru, I absolutely liked her hair because it was her hair throughout the movie. She is very cute and very brave.

Enjoyment, is 10 because it really gave me that touchy- feely sorta enjoyment because I was touched by the romance and their friendship. Everything was perfect but there are things which we really need to end. The ending almost made me cry but then, it did gave me the idea that if I'm going to be unhappy about the ending.. how will their journey end? Will Hotaru still be visiting him during summer? It made me realize the ending emphasize the whole idea that Gin will eventually disappear. Yes, it is what we all want that Gin would stay with Hotaru forever but.. let's not forget that this is what Gin wants and let's just be happy about it.


Overall is 8, It is Very Good because I wish they made it a little longer. I really want them to give Hotaru and Gin more romantic and friendly scenes together! The ending is very heart pinching. It gave me the idea that Gin is gone forever, but he is my favorite character when he showed up his face. I thought this movie would be about a boy and a little girl having long age-gap relationship.. but it's not. It's more of a unique romantic story that I REALLY LOVE!... SO all animefans out there! if you want a tearjerker, bittersweet and heart warming/pinching anime movie.. PLEASE i want you to WATCH THIS! and support IT!

Chobits is an anime for robot lovers at the same time romance lovers. The story centers a young man who is very lucky to find a robot which is legen----------------------------------------------------dary. However he finds himself into a series of unfortunate events that will reveal the truth about the history of the robot and its past life. He finds new friends. It's like this, the main character finds friends who he seem normal and innocent but the truth is... they connect to other people. In short, the story is exciting but the ending well.. i would say for me is a little predictable. The art is kinda good, It kind of reminds me of Hunter X Hunter cause the art is alike. I like how they make the characters cute, charming and funny. It made me believe that even though the anime was created a long time ago it still remains its creative artworks and drawings. Especially the eyes they are very charming and tantalizing. The music and sound effects suits the anime very well. It's funny how great the characters show their emotions so well despite the fact that they're not REAL. Nevertheless they make people cry, laugh, smile, suspense, and red cheeks whenever the scene is getting hot. The percentage of enjoyment when watching this is 80%. They lack the mysteries, the awesomeness, and the worst part is.. there are no awesome fights. It's just not for grownups.. well some of it.. but the truth is they need to make interesting scenes. Like I said the ending is way predictable but for some reasons i still enjoyed the comedy/funny moments and the cuteness of Chii (one of the characters in Chobits). So my overall points is 8.

This anime namely, Bokura ga ita in english, We were there is all about romance. It has lots of drama and I actually liked it. It seems enjoyable and fun to watch. There were a lot sweet moments and a lot carried away moments. I was captivated by the characters the main character namely, Motoharu Yano is very devoted especially to his ex-girlfriend and his current girlfriend. He had a very tough past and also he wanted to completely forget about it. He is a bit similar to a character in Durarara! which is, Masaomi Kida. He wants to run away from his past but he just can't. In order to forget it they must control their emotions and face their everyday life and if they left something in the past they will surely figure it out and they try to learn from their mistakes.
The art is a little similar to an anime called "Lovely Complex". So I liked it and it's very cute especially when the characters shows their chibi form. i absolutely adore chibi forms ^^.
The sound his nostalgic and dramatic. Kind of reminds me of Fruits Basket. The opening music has a meaningful lyrics and eventually I was very captivated by the song.
I enjoyed it a lot but there was something lacking about it. Something very important and that is a GOOD ending. I don't like to be a spoiler but for me the ending needs to be fixed. I wasn't thrilled because it made me realized that watching the whole series was a waste of time but eventually it wasn't because at least i learned a couple of things about life and also it made me realized that life can be harsh. Sometimes there are good and bad endings but to make the best of it we must know that we could still keep up with our future.
In short... Bokura ga ita is a good anime. So to those Romantic people out there try to watch this anime it will make you cry,happy,laugh, and learn a piece of life. read more
