Both manga involve the characters being put in an island to participate in a "kill or be killed" game
Both anime are loosely based on the plot of different Shakespearean plays.
-Deal with some of our contemporary issues
These two works are not really that related in terms of art style or theme, so I'll try my best to find some resemblances between them...
Both works depict gritty realism that shows the dark side of the society, through sci-fi concepts(or superpower). Both manhwa are told in a multiple perspective fashion. It is done well because the mystery is slowly unraveled in a way that makes the readers to keep read on.
Both anime contain a lot of mecha and explosions.
Both are mecha anime
Both anime are made by the same production company: Sakura Create
Both are really good manga with medium length (100 - 200 chapters).
Okay, so they were both top shonen jump manga.
They are both drawn by the same mangaka.
Both series have a plot that involves the hero working together with the demon queen (they even use the same terms!).
At first glance, these two anime are completely different. This may be true in terms of genres, but the main male character share astounding similarities.
These 2 are presented in multiple perspectives. What I mean is that the point of view constantly switches between different main characters. While this method may cause audience to be less attached to a single character, the story unfolds from many angles.
Both have similar premises in that an extremely smart high school student gains superpower and want to use it to change the world.
Both manga involves a deadly game that involves participants killing each other. They have intense mystery and suspenseful plot. Both also have a good bit of romance between the main male and female leads.
They are both love stories with realistic and engaging plot, though velvet kiss is rated much more mature than KNIM.
To be honest, a lot of shoujo manga have the same premise and characters. These 2 are no exception.
Both of these manga are slice of life/romance.
Both visual novels are made by the company visual art's/key.
They both belong to action/mystery/adventure/supernatural genres. They both have amazing story and plot twists that keep me on the edge of my seat. They are both incredibly popular at the time when they are just completed (well, because they are good).
They both belong to harem/action/mystery/ecchi genres. They both have decent plotline and similar supernatural elements.
Both manga series are drawn by the same mangaka. They are both action/adventure/comedy. While fairy tail has more silliness and ecchi element, rave master has more romance and coherent plotline.
They are both anime adaptation of European classics. Gankutsuou stays more faithful to the original novel by Dumas, while Romeo x Juliet is more of a romance anime.
Guilty crown is took out some elements from macross frontier. They both contain songstresses whose songs are relevant to the plot.
These two manga actually belong to very different categories. But I feel like that in both manga the protagonist try to fight against impossible fate under a certain belief. Both manga have epic fighting scenes (and both have really slow updates ~).
Ok, so this recommendation is already done more than 200 times. The similarities are obvious if you watch them. However, guilty crown is not just a complete ripoff of code geass. Despite its faults, guilty crown can be extremely enjoyable to watch.
Well, both stories are done by the same visual novel company, Key. They are essentially set up in the same harem (1 boy and 5 girls) format. But unlike typical harem, both anime actually have plot involving these characters and the story makes sense. |
