STOP THE PRESSES!
If, like me, you are an avatar fan and you are disgusted with the casting of the avatar live action film, then fear not! There IS something that can be done. The jounral VAang ain't white has been uber busy organising a letter writing campaign.
They have been working with several internet fan groups and trading information with the Media Action Network of Asian Americans and The East West Players (of which several Avatar cast are members of, including Dante Brasco.)
It is all explained on their site, but they need letters. Online petitions are largely ignored, but letter writing on paper tends to have consequences. Already the studio bent and cast Dev Patel as Zuko, however, many fans are just as insulted as its fairly obvious from the canon of the show that Zuko is not Indian.
If you want to do something about this, then read the information available on their blog, for the price of a stamp and an envelope, you might actually help to change the film for the better.
I hate these sections but I shall fill it in as expected. I've only been watching anime for a few months so I'm no expert yet but I know what I like.
I love mysteries so I fell in love with Higurashi the moment I discovered it, but I'm also quite fond of animes with a comedy element. I like a big overall story arc so I'm still really fond of stuff I watched in the 80's as a child.
I had a bit of a fangirl thing for the first series of Vampire Knight, but I found the finale of Guilty to be a major disappointment.Recently I have developed a bit of a love affair with yaoi which is strange considering I'm pretty much anti-slash when it comes to everything else.
Fave anime's include Devilman (the ova), Higurashi, Vampire Knight, Zombie Loan, Elfen Lied, Death Note, Ouran highschool host club, Junjou romantica, Kuroshitsuji (black butler) and the Mysterious Cities of Gold (since it counts, aparently.) For my taste MAL doesn't allow you to have enough favourites to actually account for how many shows I enjoy watching.

Blah a delayed response from me too- we're even :). So let me get this straight; you're Sporty, Pyxx is Ginger and i'm Posh- LOL!- we only need Scary and Baby now! Why you hanging your head in shame anyways? cos i was in love with Howie too!- whenever i saw them on tv i would concentrate on Howie and not bother with the rest- he was quite exciting to watch (at the time)- even though all my friends preferred the others esp the blonde baby-faced one- i still don't get what all the hype around him was....

Or were you into the boybands instead?- Boyzone, Take That, BSB, N'Sync (hotter version of BSB post coming back!)...i'm assuming you were born in the 80s too?
I noticed our anime compatibility is somewhat high and you too have added Junjou Romantica as your fav- i never would've thought that kind of stuff would've been a fav of mine a couple of months ago...:)

Ooh, had to send apologyness for my lack of here btw, had a wonderful surprise of an old mate turning up on my doorstep, The legend that is Ginger John hehe. We've been watching random stuffs and doing shottys since then pretty much, hence my being all away and stuffs. Thought an explaineyness was deservbed. (With a b and everything... o_O lol)
Miss you though lovelyfish! Start watching some more sodding anime already :P

You have been much missed by moi, I started work on that prompt btw, have a couple of K of somewhat droll crap.. lol. The idea has already snowballed a fair bit in my head though and is potentially far more complex than I can write.. Dare I say it may be delving somewhat into sci-fi areas... Yeah, weird huh? lol!
