I think it started cause Miku is cute LOL. It's not really about the songs anymore in my opinion. I think the japanese have given them "personalities" to the point where it's just fun doing fanart and stuff for them.

Gosh I watched SMJ like 7 years ago so I can't really remember how the fork I got through it.I think back in the day when getting anime was difficult you only had like 1 show to watch at a time so it didn't seem so bad...since that's ALL you'd be watching. Yea I know it made no sense, at the end of SMJ2X they turn into little kids - but in human form
