Hello, my name is Aaron and I have been an avid fan of anime ever since me and my dad rented Akira from Blockbuster in 91 or 92. I appreciate any anime/manga with supurb and unique artwork (Ponyo to Metropolis to Vampire Hunter D). I dislike boring animated shows and movies (Shonen Jump style Bleach, One Piece, a few others. I pretty much watch anime for the visuals but I love Satoshi Kon and insane story telling and Tsuchiya Garon as well. You can see for yourself if you look at my selected favorites on the side bar.
I also like to write and draw my own comics. Let me know if you got an online portfolio cause I love to look at other peoples art.
RIP SATOSHI KON- you are an inspiration to all who were blessed enough to view you films. you are my favorite director and i will forever watch your films and thank god that a mind like yours was put on our planet.

Very late response but I had no clue Satoshi Kon died. He was/is one of my favorite directors and I wouldn't have known until much later if you hadn't told me. So thanks.

Damn, I haven't logged in here in a LONG time. I was devastated to hear this news. Pancreatic cancer. Life fucking sucks sometimes.

I've actually seen a few episodes of it and wasn't all that interested; might have it on my on hold list.
Thanks for the rec though :)

I liked that a lot, and the music suited it very well. Good job.

I wouldn't say that it failed on any level... just the Castle in the Sky tributes were not as identifiable. Miyazaki movies are fashioned in such a magical way, your tribute really captured that. The musical overlay you included heightened the experience.
I appreciate the fact that you included clips from On Your Mark. With that said, were there clips from Ponyo???

I don't think that I saw anything from Castle in the Sky in your Miyazaki tribute...

Natsume Yuujinchou, because of how calming and beautiful the pastel watercolor effect the style is. I more favorites, but that is the first one that comes to mind. Sure it isn't detailed detailed, but there is something about the simplicity.

It was so long ago that I watched it. But I don't think I did, too bad I don't own it. It was a rental.

Honey and Clover is a good choice. I enjoyed how much the story revolves the different type of relationships they have and how they change and effect them. A nice change from all the shounen I like.
