Here is what I thought about D Gray Man:

Story-I give it a 10. D Gray Man gives that sorta-typical shonen feeling, then turns it around completely and makes it into an awesome, not your typical type of shonen but still rocking kind of an anime, which is VERY hard to find these days.

Art-Before you kill me because I didn't put 10, listen to me. I like the animation of this show very much. It is very detailed, very clear, very high quality.:D But I gave it a 9 because I prefer the manga's style of art better and the anime staff changed a few ... detailds that just made the charcters more...themselves. They were still awesome, but the manga displays more thoughtfulness and details.

Sound-Generally the music is very fitting to the mood, and unlike most other animes I watched, I enjoyed the openings and the endings very much. The seiyuus of the characters did a terrific job in voicing the charcters, though sometimes Allen sounds too feminine and Linali's voice is too high pitched, and at first Lavi's voice kinda annoyed me as it was very nasal. But you probably won't even notice it, it's just a few mistakes we make now and then.

Character-Outstanding.
The best thing I like about the characters is the fact that Allen Walker, the main character of the series, betrays the typical loud, outgoing, no manners or cares whatsoever stereotype of shonen manga.(*POSSIBLE SPOILERS!-*Like Bleach or Naruto...-_-*) In fact, Allen is very nice, well mannered, polite, and at the same time outgoing and friendly while he maintains intelligence and some coolness. This appeals to me very much.^^
Other charcters are interesting as well. Kanda can be, at a first glance, be a typical shonen rival, but you'll see he's not. After all, who has long hair and likes flowers?
Other charcters, such as Komui, Bak, and sometimes Lavi provide some comic relief while actually contributing to the series in some way. The charcters are equally balanced, overall.

Enjoyment-A 10.
D Gray Man has wonderful plots, art, sound, charcters, and not too much fillers! Who can resist that?

Overall-Perfect. I would definitley recommend this series.
