I have rarely seen Anime series that have truly satisfied me with the gore genre. They usually just overdo it, and not let the audience appreciate the blood-covered action and the bloody scenes. But not with Another (Anime). This has been the first anime that has satisfied me with the action scenes, the gore and the horror side of the story and plot. Though at first the plot formulation was a bit hazy, it got more clearer around the middle and into the ending.
Story: 8/10
I rated the story a "Very Good" only because I was left a bit unsatisfied me with the story itself. At first I had thought that the plot was to end the calamity itself, to finally free the curse of the school. But it somehow got twisted and ended ending the calamity only for that year. It was good, how they made the story so fascinating, unique and so different from the other anime that I have ever encountered. It was certainly made appealing and enticing, that you couldn't just escape it, but watch it until the end. The gore and bloody scenes made you sit at the end of your seats and chew on your nails, while the action scenes made your heart jump at least once or twice while watching it.
Overall, the formulation towards the plot was made well. There were a bit bumps, yes. But I couldn't have done any better, since it fit so perfectly.
Art: 10/10
Okay, I rated Art a good 10 because the art was just sublime. They detailed everything so well, so perfectly. Everything was made so beautifully. I don't think I've seen any other anime with Art as amazing as Another. It was, as to say, Outstanding. The simple flicker of the lights, the blow of the wind, the waving of the trees to the wind, the character detail, the tiny blotches on the different places. It was all simply outstanding. Everything was drawn and animated so perfectly, I could cry. (No, I'm joking. That was just exaggeration)
Sound: 10/10
Let's move on to sound. Alright, I am very touchy when it comes to sound, I admit. And I have been looking for the Anime that perfects my score in the "Sound" area since I had been watching anime. And lucky me, I have found it. A round of applause to Another yet again. The Opening had been a bit weird when I first started watching Another, but it absolutely fit the anime, making it irresistible to the ears. It was absolutely bone-chilling and made you so-called prepared for the thriller the anime had to give. The sound actually contributed to the cold atmosphere that was probably meant by the animators and producers. From the loud bangs to the drop of a pin, (I'm not saying there are pin-drops in the anime, but it's just a thought I can give you) Another just nailed it to the core. The music never really left sometimes, but it totally added to the hazy and damp atmosphere.
Characters: 8/10
The characters weren't really described well and we didn't really figure out what had happened to them, other than their deaths. And other than Misaki Mei and Sakakibara Kouichi, the other characters in the story remained unknown and untouched. But that's what a mystery's all about right? But even though a little was discovered about them, it actually made the anime more appealing and exciting.
Overall- 9/10
If you want a test of strength, go watch Another now. It won't take anything out except your time and some of your strength. I recommend it to you to watch it during evening, at around midnight. Who knows? It might even turn out fun for you.
The story hasn't totally satisfied me, but I can't say that I didn't enjoy watching it. I wish to tell you all to prepare, for one of the most horrifying, blood-twisting and mind-dulling anime that have yet to blow your minds.
It was and will always be, a certainly bone-wrenching experience.

Although I’m only halfway through the Blue Exorcist/Ao no Exocist anime series, I can say that it’s so far so good. There were only a few twists and turns I encountered, but I enjoyed them as they were bone-chilling and exciting. There were times I got interested and shifted to a different anime, but I somehow get back to ANE all over again. The first few episodes of Blue Exorcist caught my interest quickly, and so my Blue Exorcist fandom started. I liked the story-line because it was so straightforward. I'm not saying that they jumped straight to the plot, I meant that they introduced the characters at the right time, they formulated the events in the right order, and they knew how to captivate an audience. Let's just say they put the puzzles pieces together, perfectly.
Blue Exorcist isn’t as boring as it sounds. It’s actually action-packed and has a handful of cliff-hangers. I liked the action scenes a lot, since it was drawn well, and you could understand most of its parts, unlike other animes I've seen. The quality wasn't as good as I expected, but still, it's pretty cool. The art style of the anime itself is good, and the detailing is pretty cool. I wonder how long they came up with True Cross Academy. It must have been a long time.
The character art was okay-ish. I think they just overdid it this time, though. Rin's demon form wasn't that, let's say.. Appealing to the audience. I asked most of my ANE friends and they thought it was totally off. I have to agree with that. He looked like he was picked out from an alley, drunk, and had a furry tail attached up his behind. Other characters' details were fine. I especially liked how cute they made Shiemi's character, and how tsundere they made Izumo.
Let's talk about the sounds. There's a reason why I picked "Outstanding" as the rating for sound. The voice actors fit perfectly along their characters, making it look as if they were meant to play that role. Well, they were since they WERE chosen.. =='' Eto.. The Opening and Ending songs were plain awesome, and the sound effects were sublime. They really did a great job on that. They have my rare compliments for sound.
I enjoyed the first-half of the anime. I'm actually not sure what it'll turn out to be, now that they have a lot of twists. But I hope Blue Exorcist turns out to be as I expected and wanted. I wish it would satisfy me completely, since I rarely find animes that have. I'm looking forward to continuing the rest of the series sometime this week, since schoolwork and everything else get in the way all the time.
I know I can’t wait for the next episodes of Blue Exorcist. I’m actually on the edge of my seat, waiting for more of the epicness.
