About animegorey
Really enjoy the gorey, graphically violent and profanity laden type animes. I don't read manga cause I'd rather watch it on tv.

Ah yes the Sonic Bomb episode was rather good. Depressing but worth watching. For a while I thought he would make it. Some of the dog fights were not bad either.

I've just finished watching Arc the Lad, and I definitely need to watch something else now. Preferably something that has low cuteness-factor.
It had some moments including some dog fights and other combat scenes. Story was ~meh, had some blood (no gore or freak me out), monsters semi-ok, and the female lead was plain horrible.

Rewatching Venus Wars sounds like exactly what I need. No cuteness there that's for sure.

Some of the Gundam series are a good. But like you may already have found out, the OVA's and movies are better.
Armored Trooper Votoms is very good also. I've misplaced my DVD's of the original 52 ep series and am having a hard time trying to find it elsewhere.

Kyokujitsu no Kantai seems interesting. Now to try and find that one also.

Finished watching The Cockpit ova's. Knight of the Iron Dragon was worth watching. At first the style made me think it was comedy. Glad it wasn't.

Yes I like watching war related series. One of my favorites is Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO 2: Gravity of the Battlefront. No kiddish plot and very nice eyecandy. Shame it was so short.

I've been meaning to watch it! I tried converting it for my PSP twice, but both times it didn't work for different reasons.

I may have gotten my paws on Aura Battler Dunbine, Wings of Rean, and the related OVA. Have no idea if their any good. BUT I'm gonna give them a whirl non the less when they arrive.

Akkk better not watch Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-Hen (True Mazinger). Forget I said it was worth checking.
After a while the combat gets old. Only watching the last 5 eps because I've made it a matter of principle

Thanks! I hadn't added quite a few of those, though I'll pass on the hentai recommendations ;)

darkjager | 10-28-09, 5:24 PM
dude thanks for the list!
ninja scroll is badass, but i was gonna watch the series but people say it has nothing to do with the OVA

Thats tough...I hear its easy to burn DVDS though. But I guess you have a point. Some Animes are nearlly impossible to acquire. But once you get em. Then thats all that matters!

RogerZaraki | 10-28-09, 3:36 PM
Oh thanks!

An Avid Collecter? Hmmm...well these are really fine animes. I'll have to go over them and see which one he'll like the best.

dxInt | 10-26-09, 6:08 AM
Alright, how about good action-oriented OVAs from the 90s? I've seen a lot of them, but I'm sure not all.

RogerZaraki | 10-25-09, 2:59 PM
Yeah Ive been trying to watch Blue Gender and Im still looking for some good Animes to get my Cousin who likes Cyberpunk Animes but I dont know what to get him!

I'm glad you went back to Yugo cuz I've heard good things and I was surprised you dropped it. As for work I don't have a job right now other than being a senior in high school and trying to get accepted to Purdue. Finally, I'm done running on my cross country team and done with high school sports for the rest of my life, which is kind of nice. Personally, having that extra hour or so after school is nice right now since I don't have to stay for practices. I think eventually, around December or after I'll go hunting for a part time job just to have some cash flow.

P.S. You didn't like AD Police? Kenji Sasaki is my fav character ever! hahah

Does your wife watch anime?! I've only met a handful of women who like anime or watch it vividly. Actually, I'll rephrase that in saying I have only met a few dedicated anime watchers in real life. Living in a farm community when I want see the city doesn't give you much diversity other than people that drive trucks, pick corn, and dip lol. Having a corn field in your back yard and considered to be in the suburbs of my small town is pretty fucking dumb lol. Yet, I do appreciate that I will get to relax in my last year of high school.

Hey dude. I usually fluctuate back and forth between anime and manga. I had a period where I was just burning through anime, and I recently ended a period which I spent focused on manga. I couldn't really pick a favorite, but it's much harder for me to pick a top 5 anime list than top 5 manga list, for some reason.

I finally put together an accurate "Plan to Watch" list, let me know if you think anything is missing: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/dxInt&order=11&status=6&tag=

You are amassing a shitton of older stuff. Otokojuku is the only thing from your list that I have any experience with--I watched some of the fansubs and I saw the live-action movie. Both were very entertaining, so I think that's a solid recommendation. Otokojuku was the anime that replaced Hokuto no Ken's timeslot when it finished airing, way back in '88. It's lighter in tone, but still a series that essentially deals with manliness.

kawaiikoma | 10-24-09, 7:29 PM
Hey there! Yea, I don't really read manga either as you can tell. I'm actually wracking my brain trying to remember the name of this series (or possibly OVA). I think it was cyber-punk; I know for sure it was sci-fi and it was kind of old. I can vaguely remember the opening scene. A lady/girl walking down a dark alley and a group of guys try to assault her then this guy comes out of nowhere and saves her. Grrrr...that's all I can remember. I just know it took place in a futuristic Tokyo. If you have any suggestions, definitely let me know.
